August 14th at College Bar & Grill was quite a rowdy night as a majority of the bar was celebrating a birthday! We lost a few teams along the way but in the end our main teams of the evening were Team Megadesk, Echo Gang, Boom Dynomite, and Placenta Claws.

In Round 1 our teams were challenged on their general knowledge; Placenta Claws had not joined us until Round 2 so they had no points for this first round. After including points for team numbers, we had a tie for first place of 8 points between Team Megadesk and Boom Dynamite. and Echo Gang in second with 6 points.

Round 2 asked the teams to identify movies with the word "night" somewhere in the tital just from looking at a still shot from each film. Boom Dynamite stole first now with 15 points while Team Megadesk and Echo Gang shared second with 13 points, Placenta Claws was in third with 6 points.

In Round 3 the questions or answers had a reference to the number five. Echo Gang decided to play their Double or Nothing in this round and thankfully for them it payed off, they left the round with an additional 12 points! Placenta Claws and Boom Dynamite each earned 6 points and Team Megadesk earned 4 points for their team.

For this week Round 4 was a Guess Who. Echo Gang was able to correctly guess the mystery person after only 1 clue earning themselves 10 extra points! Team Megadesk was able to guess correctly next after our second clue, Boom Dynamite got it after the third clue, and Placenta Claws was able to guess after our fourth clue. By this point in the game Echo Gang had stolen first with a total of 35 points. In second we had Boom Dynamite with 27 points. Third place went to Team Megadesk who had 25 points. Placenta Claws was in fourth place with 16 total points.

Our Find the Connection for Round 5 was more challenging for some than others. Boom Dynamite had chosen to utilize their Double or Nothing for this round. Lucky for them it worked out and they left the round with 20 extra points! Echo Gang also got every question correct in this round and earned 10 points for their team. These were also the only teams who were able to identify that the commonality was names of Kardashian children. Mega Desk earned 6 points this round and Placenta Claws earned 5.

Round 6 tested our teams abilities to match Latin phrases with their English translations. Team Megadesk and Placenta Claws both played theit Double or Nothing in this round. For the Placenta Claws it unfortunately did not play well for them and they earned no additional points in this round. However, Team Megadesk did get all of their answers correct and earned 20 points for their team! Boom Dynamite also got every answer correct, earning 10 points, and Echo Gang was able to earn 9 points.

In our final round for the evening our teams had to identify the tom 10 Late Night TV hosts of 2010! Each team got 7 out of 10 of the answers correct, but luckily they were able to make up the 2 points by returning my pens. In the end Placenta Claws was in fourth place with 31 points, Team Megadesk was in third with 61 points, just a few points ahead in second with 64 points was Echo Gang, and just a single point ahead of them in first place was Boom Dynamite with 65 total points!

August 7th at College Bar & Grill 3 teams tested their skills in trivia as they competed for their chances to win this weeks special prizes. The teams were Pitter Patter, I'm Not Picky, and Full Mooners. Our special prizes were to celebrate my own birthday on August 6th, I picked up a few things at the Dollar Store for our top 3 winners to take their pick from! Lucky for each of them that there were only 3 teams playing last night!

Each of our teams did fairly well in the First General Knowledge Round. The most commonly missed question in this round asked who served as President of the U.S. immediately prior to Andrew Jackson. After adding points for team numbers and correct answers in the round; we had Full Mooners in first with 7 points, Pitter Patter in second with 6 points, and I'm Not Picky in third with 5 points. Certainly a close game to start off with!

Our Round 2 Picture Round asked the teams to identify the images of pro-golfers. A majority of the teams seem to be very familiar with golf, the least amount of questions missed was just 1!

As we moved into Round 3 the teams grumbled a bit after hearing the theme was about dust or people winning a competition but in the end each of our teams did very well! My personal favorite missed question asked what meteorological event was at the center of The Grapes of Wrath, to which 1 of the teams responded with "the coming of Jesus". At the end of Round 3 I'm Not Picky moved into first place with 17 points, Pitter Patter remained in second now with 16 points while Full Mooners moved to third place now with 13 points.

In Round 4 the teams were asked to identify a mystery location. Teams I'm Not Picky and Full Mooners both placed their guesses after the second clue, unfortunately they each missed a point for putting down the wrong answer. Pitter Patter waited until the third clue to place their answer, a wise choice as the clue specified we were looking for a school this round. Pitter Patter correctly guessed University of Oxford and was able to earn 6 extra points for their team.

Round 5 was our Find the Connection round. Team Full Mooners decided to play their Double or Nothing in this round, lucky for them this worked out! They were able to earn a total of 20 points for their team in this German word round! I'm Not Picky also got all of the answers correct in this round, however they did not play their Double or Nothing. By this point in the game Full Mooners moved back up to first place now with 32 points total, in second was Pitter Patter with 29 points, and in third we had I'm Not Picky with 26 points.

Round 6 asked the teams to match the song titles to their missing fruit included in the name. All 3 of our teams missed the same single question in this round, and each of them put the same wrong answer for the question! Instead of "Blueberry Hill" they each wrote "Cherry Hill".

Our final question in Round 7 asked the teams to name the current player tokens that come with a standard U.S. Monopoly game. Unfortunately many teams are not familiar with the new player tokens that now include a penguin, rubber ducky, and a t-rex in place of our classic favorites of the boot, thimble, and wheelbarrow. Teams Pitter Patter and I'm Not Picky played their Double or Nothing in this final round, and unfortunately this did not end up working out for them.

By the end of the game in third place we had I'm Not Picky with 37 points, who walked away with their very own Etch-A-Sketch as their winnings. In second place with 40 points was Pitter Patter, who after much debate due to the sensitive nature of Monopoly now having a t-rex game piece chose to walk out with their very own stuffed t-rex. Finally, in first place with 46 points we had Full Mooners, who walked out with their own slime making kit.

Thank you to everyone who came out! Join us again next week to see who wins the $100 cash prize!
