On Wednesday, September 25th at College Bar & Grill we had 4 teams challenge each other to a battle of trivia. Our teams for the evening were Twitches, Dirty Shirleys, Bring Back High Life, and Nick's Bitches.
In our General Knowledge Round our teams did not do the hottest. Nick's Bitches even chose to play their Double or Nothing this round which lead to them earning no points at the start of the game. To start off Twitches were in first with 5 points, Bring Back High Life in second with 3 points, Dirty Shirleys in third with 1 point, and Nick's Bitches in fourht with no points.
Our teams were asked to identify images from 90s video games in Round 2. The most commonly missed questions were images from Earthworm Jim and GoldenEye 007. The most amount of points earned by anyone this round was 4 points.
In Round 3 the theme of the questions and answers was that they would include either the number eight or reference an ace. Our teams did a bit better this round! By this point in the game Twitches held to first now with 15 points, still in second was Bring Back High Life with 12 points, Dirty Shirleys in third with 8 points, and Nick's Bitches in fourth with 7 points.
This week's Round 4 was a Guess Who round. After just one clue Dirty Shirley confidently put down Snoop Dogg as their answer, unfortunately he was not the correct mystery person. Bring Back High Life guessed John Travolta and Nick's Bitches guessed Quentin Tarantino, which were also incorrect. The only team this week to correctly guess the mystery man was Twitches who were able to identify Nicolas Cage after the fourth clue, earning their team 4 extra points.
After Round 4 Nick's Bitches and Dirty Shirleys had dropped out of the game leaving only Twitches and Bring Back High Life to fight for first. They came into Round 5 looking for the connections. Twitches were able to identify that the commonality was Looney Tunes characters. By this point Twitches now had 27 points while Bring Back High Life had 15 points.
Round 6 asked the teams to match each athlete to their hall of fame. Twitches were able to correctly match 6 of the answers, while Bring Back High Life was able to match 9! Unfortunately they did play their Double or Nothing in this round and missed just 1 question, which meant they earned no points this round.
We ended the evening by asking our teams to name 10 of the 11 most popular musicals for high schoolers to perform this year. My personal favorite incorrect answers were Jack the Ripper and Rent, because I can't imagine either of those would go over well for a high school production.
In the end Twitches walked away with first place at 37 points and Bring Back High Life was in second with 23 points. Thank you to everyone who played! Join us again next week!!

Wednesday September 18th at College Bar & Grill we had 4 teams come face to face to see who would win in a battle of trivia. Our teams for the evening included I'm Not Picky, Pitter Patter, Th4nd3r C4tz, and Ballz. Who would be our victor?
In Round 1 our teams were asked 6 general knowledge questions. After adding points for registered teams we had a tie in first place of 6 points between Pitter Patter and Ballz. In second was I'm Not Picky with 5 points, and Th4nd3r C4tz in third with 3 points. Our most commonly missed question in this round askedwhat Creole stew likely got it's name from a Choctaw word for a spicy herb, to which all our teams responded jambalaya when the correct answer was gumbo.
In Round 2 the teams were asked to identify the guitar plays found in the images they received. Ballz and I'm Not Picky only missed 1 point, Pitter Patter missed 2, and Th4nd3r C4tz were able to get 4 answers correct. A personal favorite incorrect answer of mine last night was when a team identified Joan Jett as Nikki Sixx.
In Round 3 the theme was that the word "crystal" would appear in either the question or the answer. I'm Not Picky and Ballz did the best out of the 4 teams in this round. By this point in the game I'm Not Picky and Ballz were in a tie for first place with each team having 18 points. In second was Pitter Patter with 15 points, and in third was Th4nd3r C4tz with 10 points.
For this week's Round 4 the teams had to identify a mystery person based off of the clues given to them, everyone eventually was able to correctly identify our mystery man. I'm Not Picky was able to get it after just the first clue, which meant their team was able to get 10 additional points. Pitter Patter got it after our second clue giving them 8 extra points. While Ballz and Th4nd3r C4tz got the answer after our third clue, giving each of their teams 6 extra points.
Round 5 was our Find the Connection round, where teams have to figure out the commonality in the answers to the first 9 questions in order to answer question 10. A majority of our teams struggled a bit in this round. But by this point I'm Not Picky had officially stolen first place for themselves with a score of 37 points. Following behind them was Ballz with 28 points while Pitter Patter was just a point below at 27 points for third place. Th4nd3r C4tz were in fourth with 20 points.
In between Rounds 5 and 6 we took a quick recess to play our Survey Slam Drinking Round, or as a majority of my teams referred to it as the Family Feud Round! The teams were asked 6 questions that had previously been asked to hundreds of survey takers and then had to identify 1 of the top 3 answers others had given. In the end Pitter Patter won our mini round with a total of 9 points!
As we hopped back into our regularly scheduled program for Round 6 our teams were asked to match the TV comedy characters to the actor who portrayed them! Teams Th4nd3r C4tz and I'm Not Picky both chose to play their Double or Nothing plays in this round. Lucky for both teams all of their answers were correct and each of them were able to gain 20 additional points to their teams!
And finally in Round 7 the teams were asked to name the 10 most recent MLB teams to have lost the World Series. In this round both Pitter Patter and Ballz chose to play their Double or Nothings, and unfortunately for both teams they had at least 1 incorrect answer, meaning neither of them would gain any extra points from this round. In the end Ballz finished in fourth place with a total score of 35 points. In third was Pitter Patter with 37 points. Second place went to Th4nd3r C4tz who finished with 50 points. And in first place with 65 points we had I'm Not Picky.
Congrats to all of the teams who participated last night, you're all winners to me. Catch us again next Wednesday at College Bar & Grill!

On September 11th 5 teams gathered at College Bar & Grill to challenge each other to see who knows the most this week. Our teams for the evening were Pitter Patter, The Cheetah Girls, I'm Not Picky, FeeBee, and TWG-DPK.
In Round 1 we tested their general knowledge of things. Our most commonly missed question in this round was about which country had 3 capitol cities, many assumed China, however the correct answer was South Africa. After including points for having a registered team, we had a tie for first place of 6 points between I'm Not Picky and Pitter Patter. Behind in second with 5 points was FeeBee, then The Cheetah Girls with 4 points, and TWG-DPK in fourth with 3 points.
Our theme for the Round Two was for the teams to identify actors who had cameos on Grey's Anatomy. TWG-DPK seemed very eager for this round as they claimed to be big fans of the show. I'm Not Picky and FeeBee both decided to use their Double or Nothing plays in this round. This worked for FeeBee who left the round earning 16 additional points, however I'm Not Picky missed just one of their answers which meant they had to leave the round with no new points. The Cheetah Girls earned 7 points, Pitter Patter earned 6 points, while our Grey's Anatomy fans in TWG-DPK earned just a single point.
The theme in Round 3 was that somewhere in the question or answer there would be some kind of reference to a type of tree. The only team to get every answer this round correct was The Cheetah Girls. By this point in the game FeeBee had climbed to first place with a total of 25 points. The Cheetah Girls had managed to bring themselves up to second place now with 17 points. Behind them in third was Pitter Patter at 15 points, then I'm Not Picky with 11 points, and in fifth was TWG-DPK with 8 points.
In Round 4 this week our teams were aiming to identify our mystery person. After just the first clue TWG-DPK boldly placed down their answer sheet, and unfortunately their tenacity did not benefit them and they lost a point. I'm Not Picky, The Cheetah Girls, and FeeBee each guessed correctly after our second clue, earning each of their teams 8 points. Pitter Patter certainly tried their hardest but just slightly missed the mark by instead writing the name of the lead singer of Evanescence. The correct name of the person we were looking for was comedian, Ali Wong.
Round 5 was our Find the Connection round. I'm Not Picky did the best out of our teams in this round and only missed 2 of the questions. The Cheetah Girls and TWG-DPK were the only teams who were not able to identify Will Ferrall as the common denominator. By this point FeeBee held strong to first place now with 40 points. In second we had The Cheetah Girls now with 29 points and I'm Not Picky close behind with 27 points. In fourth we had the Pitter Patter boys with 21 points and in fifth with 11 points we had TWG-DPK.
Round 6 asked the teams to match international Independence Days to their correct countries. I was personally nervous for the teams in this round but everyone at least got a few points! I'm Not Picky was the only team able to match all of the answers correctly. While Pitter Patter missed 2 and The Cheetah Girls missed 3. TWG-DPK got half of the answers correct and FeeBee got 4 of the answers correct.
Our final round for the evening asked our teams to name the four National Parks of Colorado as well as the five National Parks of Utah. I'm Not Picky was again the only team able to get all of the answers correct, and has apparently been to each of the National Parks of Utah! After the additional points for bringing pens back our scores for the evening were as follows: 5th place- TWG-DPK with 19 points, 4th place- Pitter Patter with 34 points, 3rd place- The Cheetah Girls with 40 points, 2nd place- I'm Not Picky with 48 points, and our winner of the evening in 1st place was FeeBee with a total of 54 points!
Join us again next Wednesday at 8PM to see who is the master of trivia that week!
