Wednesday evening on July 3rd as most people prepared for America's birthday 4 teams came to College Bar & Grill to test their trivial knowledge. The teams for the evening were ASMR, Little Sluts, After Dermawand, and Thund3rC4tz.
Our teams all did roughly the same in Round 1. The scores started with a tie in first for 5 points between After DermaWand and Thund3rC4tz. In second place was another tie between AMSR and Little Sluts who each had 4 points. A very close start indeed!
Everyone did incredible in our picture round as they identified celebrities that had animal like names. It would have been another tie had Thund3rC4tz not decided to play their Double or Nothing in this round. Luckily for them they got their answers correct which meant they earned double the points for the round!
The theme for Round 3 was that the initials for the answers would either be the letters U, S, or A. Our teams struggled a bit more in this round but by the end of the round we had ASMR in fourth place with 16 points. In third was Little Sluts with 17 points. Second was After DermaWand with 18 points. In first was Thund3rC4tz with a solid 20 points.
In Round 4 everyone guessed the answer correctly after just the second clue! This meant that they would all earn 8 extra points for their teams. Lincoln, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and good ole Gorgie Washington would be proud. (The answer was Mount Rushmore.)
In Round 5 our teams had to find the connection in answers 1 through 9 as the answer to question 10. For the most part all of our teams did fairly well in this round. Little Sluts and ASMR even chose to play their Double or Nothing's! Unfortunately for these teams, they both incorrectly identified the comedic Shakespeare play with the least amount of named characters, which was The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Little Sluts put Merchant of Venice while ASMR wrote Julius Caesar. Et tu, Brute? The commonality in this round ended up being Italian cities.
The theme of Round 6 was to identify the chefs to their cooking shows. Everyone earned 9 points in this round, other than After DermaWand, who apparently were not familiar with the Food Network. By the end of this round we had ASMR in fourth place with 33 points, in third was Little Sluts with 34 points, and in second was After DermaWand with 35 points. All very very close in scores, with just one round left it could flip in any way. In first, just a few more points ahead, was Thund3rC4tz who had 45 points.
In Round 7 our teams were asked to list 10 of the 12 highest domestic grossing movies that featured Gary Oldman. Surprisingly all of our teams struggled a bit in this round. My favorite answers given in this round was a simple "I know nothing" with the return of my pen, and one team wrote Shrek.
After the final answer sheets were turned in, along with the return of my pens for that sweet 2 extra points our scores were as follows: in fourth with 35 points was ASMR, in third was After DermaWand with 40 points, in second just a few points ahead at 43 was Little Sluts, and in first place with 47 points was Thund3rC4tz. Thank you to all our teams for playing last night, join us again next Wednesday!
Wednesday June 26th at College Bar & Grill 3 teams joined to test their knowledge. Our teams were A-Rod in your Pujols, Uncertainty Principle, and "Wow." - Owen Wilson.
In Round 1 our competitors did fairly well across the board. A-Rod in your Pujols even boldly decided to start the game by utilizing their Double or Nothing. Luckily for them they got every single answer correct, including the 2 bonus questions provided by the establishment! At the end of this first round A-Rod in your Pujols was in first place with 16 points with "Wow." -Owen Wilson in second with 7 points and in third, Uncertainty Principle with just 4 points.
There was no horsin around as these teams attempted to identify the famous horses of Round 2. "Wow." -Owen Wilson only missed a single point in this round! Our other teams got a majority of the answers correct but each missed a few points.
Both A-Rod in your Pujols and "Wow." -Owen Wilson earned 4 points in our sushi themed round. At this point in the game A-Rod in your Pujols was still in first place, now with 25 points. In second with 18 points was "Wow." -Owen Wilson and in third was Uncertainty Principle with 10 points.
As we moved into Round 4 to guess the secret location A-Rod in your Pujols seemed very confident with their solid ride in first place at this point and placed their guess down after just the first clue. Unfortunately, they guessed Westeros which was incorrect meaning they lost a point bringing their score down to 24. Both Uncertainty Principle and "Wow." -Owen Wilson waited until our third clue which solidified their assumptions after hearing the currency used in our mystery land. Both earned 6 points for correctly guessing Hyrule, the land from The Legend of Zelda.
In Round 5 our teams attempted to string together the answers to find their commonality. Most of the teams did fairly well only missing a few points, only one was able to guess that the commonality was that they were all royalty. By the end of this round A-Rod in your Pujols was still in first place now with 32 points. Catching up quickly behind them in second was "Wow." -Owen Wilson with 31 points. Uncertainty Principle was in third with 17 points.
In Round 6 our teams attempted to match the jobs held by presidents prior to their presidency. Uncertainty Principle and A-Rod in your Pujols each only missed 3 answers. While "Wow." -Owen Wilson got half correct, half incorrect.
Round 7, A Trio of Trios, was well fitting for our 3 teams of the evening. "Wow." -Owen Wilson got every answer correct and chose this moment in our final round to play their Double or Nothing earning them 18 additional points! A-Rod in your Pujols had only missed 2 of the answers for this round.
By the end of the game, after all pens had been collected for those sweet 2 extra points, in third place we had Uncertainty Principle with 29 points. As a surprise twist, in second, was A-Rod in your Pujols with 48 points. Finally, in first place we had "Wow." -Owen Wilson with 56 points total.

Wednesday night at College Bar & Grill, 5 teams arrived to test their trivia skills. Our teams for the evening were, This Bar Sucks/Fucks/Hucks/Duck?/Clucks/Shucks/Is Cool (who changed the last word of their team name each round, hence the long title), Just The Tip, Uncertainty Principle, Buh-buh-buh-buhnanas!, and Furikake Salmon.
Our general knowledge for Round 1 seemed to be a breeze for a majority of the players, the most commonly missed question was the Wednesday Question of the Day. At the end of the first round Buh-buh-buh-buhnanans! was in first place with 7 points (after including the additional 2 points for registering their team). We had a tie for second place at 6 points between Uncertainty Principle and Just The Tip. In third with 4 points was This Bar Sucks/Fucks/Hucks/Duck?/Clucks/Shucks/Is Cool and in last with 2 points was Furikake Salmon.
For our ladies in red of Round 2 our most commonly misidentified females were Ashley Siinelli from Recess and DiDi Pickles from Rugrats. Buh-buh-buh-buhnanans! didn't miss a single question in this round, Furikake Salmon only got 1 correct in this round, and the rest of our teams only missed 1 question each.
In Round 3 our teams were looking for answers that only contained 4 letters. The most commonly missed answer was a question asking about types of corn, but our teams assumed it was types of peas. By the end of this round Buh-buh-buh-buhnanans! were maintaining first place with 19 points, tailing behind with 18 points was Uncertainty Principle. In third, also falling close behind, was Just The Tip with 17 points. Falling behind them in fourth was This Bar Sucks/Fucks/Hucks/Duck?/Clucks/Shucks/Is Cool. And finally in fifth place was Furikake Salmon with 5 points.
In Round 4 our players were attempting to guess who our famous mystery person was. Teams This Bar Sucks/Fucks/Hucks/Duck?/Clucks/Shucks/Is Cool and Just The Tip guessed incorrectly and each lost 1 point for their teams. Uncertainty Principle and Furikake Salmon each were able to correctly guess after 4 clues, meaning they each won 4 extra points for their teams. And Buh-buh-buh-buhnanas! guessed Jack Black correctly after just 3 clues, earning 6 points for their team.
The Round 5 Find the Connection seemed to be all across the board for our teams last night, with some doing phenomenally while others were left in the dust. This Bar Sucks/Fucks/Hucks/Duck?/Clucks/Shucks/Is Cool decided to use their Double or Nothing play in this round and thankfully for them it paid off giving them a total of 20 extra points! Buh-buh-buh-buhnanas! only missed one question this round, Uncertainty Principle missed 2, Just The Tip missed 6, and Furikake Salmon missed 9. Truly an all over the place experience for each of these teams.
My personal favorite round last night was Round 6 where our teams were given a list of descriptions of mythological creatures and had to match them to their correct name. 3 teams decided to use their Double or Nothing plays in this round, those teams were Furikake Salmon, Buh-buh-buh-buhnanas!, and Uncertainty Principle. For Buh-buh-buh-buhnanans! and Uncertainty Principle this worked out very nicely allowing each team to gain an additional 20 points each! Unfortunately, Furikake Salmon did not have the same luck and left the round earning nothing. Our other 2 teams each only missed 1 of the answers.
By Round 7 Furikake Salmon had dropped out of the game leaving just 4 remaining teams. In Round 7 they were asked to name 10 U.S. states with the most individual farms as of 2018. Everyone seemed to struggle a bit with this question.
By the end of the game in, in last place with 12 points was Furikake Salmon. In fourth with 34 points was Just The Tip. In third, This Bar Sucks/Fucks/Hucks/Duck?/Clucks/Shucks/Is Cool with 52 points. In second place with 56 points was Uncertainty Principle. And our first place winner was Buh-buh-buh-buhnanas! with 60 points!
