Well tonight was a very rambunctious time -- but for a different reason than last time!

We had eight teams going strong this week -- but I was also joined by four special little helpers, consisting of three fourth-graders and one little one who looked like a preschooler!

They were my special helpers for the night before the official start of back-to-school season and their moms were playing trivia as Go Ducks! (And I'm sure the lovely mommas were v. thankful to have your Quizmaster double as babysitter and teacher for the night so they could have a break to drink a lil and relax a lil while their little ones received entertainment courtesy of King Trivia. I do usually feel like a teacher grading all the scoresheets but definitely felt even more like a teacher than ever before tonight on the job!)

A BIG thank you to Billy, Rashford aka Leo, Luca, and little Brendan. They helped me announce "Jimi Hendrix!" at the end of Guess Who? -- because they just wanted some time on that mic, too. What can I say -- we got some lil Quizmasters in the making! A decade or so from now, they will make great KT Quizmasters.

And they also were happy to help hand out the handouts whenever a team forgot theirs and they were more than enthusiastic to do the countdown for the drinking round, when we did our special Tom Hanks movie naming Drinking Round.

And this time, no there was no singing after our EPIC Britney karaoke showdown last week -- but hey, we maybe could have gotten everyone to sing "You've Got a Friend in Me" because I feel like we all made new friends tonight.

And just a reminder that everyone at GOAL does always have a friend in Quizmaster Sanyee!

Our rowdy home team held down the fort with Alyssa's Kardashian knowledge -- that Double or Nothing was what had them not only take the lead from Test Mic Test after Round 6, but successfully run away with the game and win First Place with 73 points.

Test Mic Test battled hard with their knowledge of Latin phrases and late night hosts and came in Second with 66 points. Congrats to Monte for repping Test Mic Test, too, winning the Drinking Round with his Tom Hanks savvy -- and Queen Katrina passing the Drinking Round titleholder crown to another member of her team for once.

Spicy Meat-a-Ball came in Third with 54 points but left early -- because they didn't realize that everyone else might have made the same common incorrect guess of thinking Chelsea Handler was the one female host of the Top Ten Late Night hosts.

No one guessed Mo'nique for mo'points~!!

And rounding out my top five were I Lost My Virginity At...who, despite noting how the Kardashian connection killed them, clinched Fourth with 49 points and repeat trivia-savvy Toby Rollers with 48 points.

One of the best (incorrect) answers of the night came at Find the Connection -- when one team noted that the connection was "All good things." YES Psalms and Saints and a dream are all good things. I think we almost prefer that to the actual answer with the Kardashian connection. JK we just love all good things all the time at GOAL because a good time is always had by ALL here.

See you ALL next week!

PS Also here are like three pix of Frank from GOAL Regulators bc he had a long day at work before coming to trivia and had so much fun at trivia that the smile was back on his face faster than we could say, "King Trivia!"

PPS Fun addendum -- while we were doing the Drinking Round, naming Tom Hanks movies: someone said "Saving Private Ryan." Then, another said "Saving Mr. Banks" and I thought that he was repeating Saving Private Ryan again. He responded, "No, Mr. Banks. It's Tom Hanks -- he saved a lot of people, apparently." Never realized that recurring theme in his work till now -- and he's going to play Fred Rogers in "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" this fall -- and is sure to save more of our nostalgic hearts.

My oh MY we had ten teams come out and play tonight and what a night we had.

The highlight for Spicey-Meat-a-Ball was definitely that Golfing round and the German words round so good job on doubling down! They reclaimed the lead as Goal trivia champions and ended the night with 66 points.

F Now and Chill was definitely going neck and neck with their competitors (from their same workplace), Let's Get Fiscal -- and though Let's Get Fiscal had SUCH a strong start for their first time playing trivia, their coworkers (and competitors for the night) soared ahead to second place with 56 points.

And Area 51 ended the night in third place, with 55 points, doing the best job out of all of the teams in naming their Monopoly pieces. They said they had a mom in their group who knows her board games so good on her!

Those Bastards! came in at 53 with their special visiting friend from Texas who we were so honored to have spend one of his nights in town in LA playing trivia.

The Bulldogs also came roaring back with the German round -- but overall, so many double downs kept every team in flux. It was really anyone's game.

Look Both Ways Before You Cross...Us made such a strong showing in the drinking round for naming Britney Spears songs and took us home to the strains of Lucky.

But, the rep from Area 51 sang another Britney hit -- Baby...One More Time and in an American Idol-esque twist with Sanyee momentarily turning into Ryan Seacrest and everyone taking their phones out to film trivia-turned-karaoke, Area 51 won! What can we say? Drinking leads to singing leads to good times leads to SO MUCH FUN.

Please everyone come back next week because I love all your faces.

And thank you GOAL for reminding me to stop and smell da roses 🙂 We should all stop and not only smell da roses, but play the trivia. Like every week.

It was another lovely Wednesday night at Goal, as we were celebrating the end of birthday week for the wonderful Ally!

We had some fabulous new faces show up -- as well as some of our tried-and-true returning teams.

A three-way tie emerged early on as Nobody Respects John Jordan, I Lost My Virginity..., and Dry Butts shrewdly doubled down, confident over their knowledge of '90s toys -- a mixture of adorable and creepy and perfectly nostalgic items.

Honorable mention for Round Two went to Serenity by Jan, who dreamed up the names Squeezy for the Koosh and Roller Sharks for Street Sharks. Hey -- when you're in a bind, just call it as you see it, right?

Four teams impressively all got The Leaning Tower of Pisa at the ten-point mark (fastest Guess What? Round ever!!).

A few have been to Italy before to see The Leaning Tower in person -- and speaking of traveling, we all decided after the question about the right-most-facing President on Mount Rushmore (Lincoln) that we should all take a road trip to see Mount Rushmore in person.

That's right -- it's on everyone's lists of places to go but few have actually traversed to the landmark.

Find the Connection set some teams back -- as Apple Records tripped up a lot who thought Strawberries would fit in.

I Lost My Virginity At... had a very successful double down for Round #6 -- they know their hip hop artists and corresponding hometowns!

Entering into Round Seven, Nobody Respects John Jordan and I Lost My Virginity At... were going head to head, both tied at 64 points.

Then, I Lost My Virginity At... won by a nose with their knowledge of one more Natalie Portman movie than Nobody Respects John Jordan who came in second! At third, we had all the swag for the savvy Serenity by Jan.

Oh! And we had an amazingly, raucously, wildly fun Drinking Round where I Lost My Virginity... also emerged triumphant as each team rep tried to name the teams in the MLB and their rep was the last one standing. Yup -- ya girl loves the MLB and also be sure to come back to Goal to watch more baseball games as baseball season heats up past the dog days of summer.

Great job to all and to all a good night!

And...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALLY!
