The VIBE:
So this happened on Wednesday night and only 2 teams showed up. But then one couple was persuaded and another random couple joined us during Round 3 - so every human in the bar was officially playing...and THAT was pretty neat. Not to mention, what a cool venue!
The GAME:
Round 1 - Judging by the "hoots and hollas", everyone was pretty excited that Canada produces the majority of the world's pure maple syrup. That made me smile and I knew right away we were all in for a good time.
The house band, GOAL Regulators, went for a quick double-up in Round 2/Pictures and did not appreciate that Selena looked a whole heck-of-a-lot like Tina Turner. Haha
Rounds 3 and 4 went pretty well. Ed Sheeran's biography was no mystery for most teams. (Although, I wasn't crazy about his last album. I felt he phoned in a few of those ballads. But. Ahem. I digress).
Round 5 brought everyone within 6 points of each other...well except for Cool Team Name. But they won The Drinking Round - so nobody feels bad for them.
Rounds 6 and 7 were played strategically as the Gators missed the double-up that would have securely placed them in first. So close!
The RESULTS:
Cool Team Name kept trying to double-up to catch the other teams. I respect that. Solid effort (4 points)
Gators played strong throughout and took home the swag! (34 points)
If it wasn't for the Round 2 miss, GOAL Regulators might have taken home 1st place. But they were super fun all night! (42 points)
And let's hear it for the GRAND CHAMPIONS OF GAME...my fellow Italian lovin' foodies.....who kept their game smooth and never trailed a round .....with 50 rockin' points....
