QUIZ RECAP

A big warm and happy welcome to December, everyone!

We all looked a little more well-rested after our Thanksgiving break -- and thank you, Thomas, for holding down the fort last week!

This week, we talked about the Best in Show Dog Show and how that made for some riveting Turkey Day TV, then discussed how Brian doesn't like stuffing but Michelle certainly does.

We had female comediennes for Round Two, switching it up for those who may be missing stand-up comedy in quarantine and we all enjoyed them sitting down.

Our third round was a little trickier -- but our teams sure knew their space and NASA!

When it came down to the final round, one was not the loneliest number after all because Karla roared ahead and could name those missing halves of famous duos.

Taking Care of Quizness rose up to clinch the lead with their successful double-down and though Michelle's dog was upstairs, Rebecca's cat made an appearance!

And we're excited to see everyone make an appearance next week!

ZOOM THEME EVENT: HOLIDAY MOVIES! RECAP

Twas the night after a Thanksgiving dinner and players were ready to start the ho-ho-holidays with some trivia! From It's A Wonderful Life to Elf (and even Pauly Shore!), players competed in varying rounds of holiday movie trivia that had them making lists (and checking them twice!) to make sure they'd covered each of the essentials.

While Quiz Kringle took an early lead in the first round, their sleigh got overtaken by the elves behind Curlers R Smart who ran away with the night (and the presents!)

Special thanks to all of our teams who joined us from California, Seattle and the North Pole and we're so glad you weren't too sleepy on turkey to come join us for our weekly Thursday Theme Nights. Now update those Netflix queues with all the movies you're ready to start streaming on December 1st and we'll see you back here next week where we boldly go where no man has gone before...

QUIZ RECAP

It is Thanksgiving week of 2020! What we can be thankful for, in a time like this, is King Trivia on Zoom!

I, Quizmaster TC, was grateful to host my first virtual King Trivia night after hosting many of my own on Zoom during this pandemic! And what a night it was!

40 players making up 9 teams came ready to play with and against each other. We had individuals from Australia (whoa!), Vermont, Seattle (me), Bay Area, LA, and college students from UCLA!

It was a great friendly competition...until we got to the question about the number of sides of the Great Pyramid of Giza. While all teams answered according to what we were asking for, Six Feet From Kevin Bacon did their research and shed some light on the actual facts. For most of the game, they were tied for first with Zima: Warrior Princess. But because of their diligence in researching this Facebook Question of the Day, Six Feet From Kevin Bacon was rewarded with this point, which got them the victory with this one point lead! This goes to show that it may make a big difference to join the King Trivia Facebook Page to preview questions!

Congrats to Zima: Warrior Princess for coming in at an extremely close 2nd place and Taking Care of Quizness for getting 3rd place.

Honorable mention to my good friends bortles! (so good to see y'all again!) who placed 4th and to BRAINERS BRUINS RACCOONS ANIME for being the youngest team (college students) that was able to score some points and place... 7th!
