QUIZ RECAP

13 teams came out to OB's tonight to battle their wits in another game of King Trivia. We had a few returning teams double their scores in the first round and grabbed an additional 2 points for having a registered team at KingTrivia.com gaining the maximum 14 points. Way to knock it outta the park on the first round "Pussy Over Pancakes," "R.I.P. Bill Paxton," "Angry Piper and a Disgruntled Employee," and "Student Debt Ceiling." By Round 3, "Pussy Over Pancakes" and "Student Debt Ceiling" were tied for first. I wanna give a special shoutout to "Year of the Rat" and their confidence in trying to double almost every round. Unfortunately, they ended up busting on all of them. I was also really excited for "Where's Cassidy," a team who played with tons of heart and every got 8/10 points in Round 5. "Angry Piper and a Disgruntled Employee" received a perfect score on that round tying with "Pussy Over Pancakes" and "Student Debt Ceiling." But they ALL were one point BEHIND "R.I.P. Bill Paxton." "Dunder Mifflin A-Team" won the Chili Cheese Fry Round when they came the closest to guessing the number of airplanes in the world. Our handout round, Round 6, was all about musicals. This seemed pretty rough for many of our teams except for two. "The College Board Approved AP Drinking Team" and "Student Debt Ceiling" both not only answered ALL the questions in our handout round correctly but they both DOUBLED their scores moving them both up 20 points!! The games ended with "Student Debt Ceiling" going home in FIRST place and a $40 gift card to their next visit to OB's. BUT we had a three way tie for SECOND place and the $20 gift card to their next OB's visit between "Angry Piper and a Disgruntled Employee," R.I.P. Bill Paxton," and "The College Board Approved AP Drinking Team." We moved on to the tie breaking question which "The College Board Approved AP Drinking Team" won grabbing SECOND place and the gift certificate.

QUIZ RECAP

This Wednesday I got another chance to sit in at OB's, and it was a pleasure all over again. It may have been a slow night for OB's, but that didn't stop the fun, as the teams were on fire from the start! Aaaand they're off! With OBHave, Pussy Over Pancakes, and Make Constantinople Greece Again, doubling down by the first round! But Trivichol, Jesse Can't Wait, and Trying Really Hard, weren't gonna get shown up, they put up the fight! Trivichol shook off that rough start and came back strong by round 4 and remained head to head with Jesse and TRH the rest of the game. Pancakes never eased however the threw those punches and filled in those boxes with an X! They finished first with 77 points! Ay Ay Ay! OBHave ate some dust on the 4th round, as they second guessed themselves, crossed out the correct answer for another, and unfortunately, were deducted a point. But that didn't stop them, the kept their chin up, and came in second place. Trying Really Hard guessed the correct answer to my question and won some yummy chilly cheese fries! Congrats to the winners and I hope to can sit again, this house super loving and welcoming. I tried their food for the first time and it was incredibly delicious! Brand new year and decade, folks! We kicked it off with a fun game of King Trivia at OB's. 6 teams competed to see who would go home in first place and $40 towards their next OB's visit.
"Low Expectations" gained the lead after Round 1 and held it strong through most of the game. Round 3 seemed to be a difficult round for most of our teams with many of them not getting any points. 🙁 "New Year, New Me" won the Chili Cheese Fry Round when they beat out all the other teams keeping their spoon on their nose the longest. By Round 4, "New Year, New Me," "I'm Barbara Walters and This is 20/20," "Memphis Grizzlies," "Low Expectations," and "OB's Bitches" guessed the famous place on the 8 point clue. This caused a three way first place tie between "New Year, New Me," "Low Expectations," and "OB's Bitches." At the end of Round 5, "Low Expectations" snagged the lead again. But "New Year, New Me," was only behind them with one point. And "Memphis Grizzlies" was only behind THEM with one point. It was still anyone's game. "Low Expectations" picked up their lead by Round 6 with our handout round. BUT our final round was all about sports teams in 2019, a category in which "Low Expectations" has some issues. They were only able to score 5 points that round while "Memphis Grizzlies" scored an almost perfect score with 9 outta 10 points!
Our first game of 2020 ended with "Memphis Grizzlies" beating out "Low Expectations" by 2 points and going home in FIRST place and $40 towards their next OB's visit. But don't worry, "Low Expectations" went home in SECOND place and $20 towards their next OB's visit.
What a fun game and am looking forward to more in 2020!
