Oh dear.
This was not a good night.
Well, okay, to be fair, it ended up being a great night. But it sure didn't start out that way.
I, your humble Quizmaster Jo, had all kinds of First World Problems: bad traffic, lame parking spot, a broken PA system, tons of mic feedback, yada yada yada. This all frazzled me to the point that I made more mistakes than usual.
BUT... the teams of OB's are the BEST TEAMS in the greater metropolitan area, and they totally had my back.
Oh, the game itself? It was great, despite my forgetting to list the standings, having to yell through only one speaker, and bungling the chili cheese round. Still, the Double Downs were frequent, the rankings bounced around all night, and So Damn Bourgeois ended up on top. Thank you all for bearing with me, see you next week!
I don't know what was in the air last night but the crowd at OB's was fricken rowdy. I LOVE it when that happens!
The Guess Who round was pretty exciting, since a lot of teams guessed Julia Louis-Dreyfus in an attempt to get big points. That backfired since the real mystery guest was Courteney Cox. Luckily spelling doesn't matter to Quizmaster Jo, because nobody can spell Courteney right.
For chili cheese glory, teams were asked to name 10 of the top 20 highest grossing movies of the 1980s. That was too much to ask! But F That Neighbor got closest, well done dudes.
At the beginning of the night, Here For A Good Time (pictured) doubled down and took the lead... then bounced around for the rest of the game, until they crushed another double down late in the game and won the whole thing. Congrats guys, see you next week!

Fun and chaotic night of trivia at OB's, per usual. Once we got past the drama of the Stanley Cup game, we had a just-as-exciting game of our own.
Immediate shout out to OBHave, who successfully doubled down in both rounds 1 and 2. Such cojones! Clapping emojis to you.
Teams were great at naming Oscar-winning movies, pairing up cities with their MLS teams, and figuring out the mystery location (it was Memphis, y'all). But man did we all suck at finding the connection. Nobody guessed Rapunzel -- in fact, no team got more than half of the questions right on this round!
In the chili cheese round, Gummy Gummy Greg (pictured) added the number of Game of Thrones episodes to the number of Breaking Bad episodes and got it right on the nose, thus winning the coveted comfort food. Congrats fellas!
