It was a packed house tonight at OB's Pub & Grill, with lots of trivia ups and downs. John's Here! must have had the secret weapon (John himself!) because they landed the top spot with a whopping 13 point lead! Among The FIELDS of Birthdays got to celebrate both a Birthday and a second place finish, while third place went to Pussy Over Pancakes after a successful comeback from a much lower position. Congrats to Digi Know That? for winning the Chili Cheese Fries Round by correctly guessing the TRT in seconds of my favorite film, Back to the Future Part II. And... who would have thought that you all knew so many Pringles flavors?? Thanks to everyone for coming out and letting me be your fill-in Quizmaster. 🙂

We never have a dull night at OB's. Never.
Your friendly Quizmaster Jo also never predicts anything right. I thought for sure everyone would clean up in the Sugar Ray round, and nobody would figure out the Guess Who was Christoph Waltz. But the opposite happened! Most teams got fructose confused with sucrose, and only a few could remember that the singer for Sugar Ray was not, in fact, named Sugar Ray.
For the chili cheese round, I asked teams to look back at the history of the band KISS. There were ten different members over the years, but I only required the names of four. A bunch of teams guessed Gene, Paul, Ace and... Mike? Aaron? Nah. Finally Pussy Over Pancakes threw out ERIC and the fries were theirs.
Big shout out to our third place team (pictured above), Quiztopher Walken. He was a team of one, and remained in the top 3 of the game all night! Well done sir.

Back to the usual level of rowdy debauchery at OB's!
Despite everyone adoring Elizabeth Banks, it took a really long time for teams to figure out she was the Guess Who answer. We also learned that the crowd at OB's isn't too big on current country music. Only one team, Turd Ferguson (who happened to be a team of ONE), knew Dolly Parton was the lone female answer in the final round.
For the chili cheese glory, teams tried to name state capitals with more than one word. Turns out Kansas City is NOT the capital of anything! That made the challenge a lot harder, but eventually we got there.
At the end of the night, 17th Street Gang, fueled by knowledge of High School Musical, took home the gold. Look how cute they are!
