We had TWENTY double down attempts last night at OB's!! Twenty!! And of those, guess how many were successful?? SEVEN. So yeah, there was a lot of hollering going on. Good, good times.
Lots of teams vied for the chili cheese round, wherein they had to name six women mentioned in Beatles songs. Quizmaster Jo loves the Beatles, this round should have surprised no one.
Regulars Insert Shitty Team Name Here had a good night, using one of those successful double downs to leap forward in round 5. They ended up taking home the gold, and just look how happy they are. See you all next week!

Truly spectacular night of trivia at OB's! The Wallets of El Segundo doubled down in round 1, taking a big lead, and they stayed up there the entire night. They kept doubling down and it kept paying off. They ruled the OB's kingdom like Cersei in the Red Keep. (Well, up until that last episode.)
Meanwhile, there was a vicious race for second and third going on. It was fun (for me) to watch the dramatic swings as nearly every team attempted at least one double down - and failed. At least the chili cheese fries provided some consolation... oh wait! The Wallets won that round too! Never mind.

A rousing night of trivia at OB's, as usual. Look, I love the teams here, and there are a lot of smart players, but let's face it -- most of them suck when it comes to presidential history. And they're not great at rice-related trivia either.
But no matter. We still had a competitive game throughout the night, with Pussy Over Pancakes taking an early lead and staying there, thanks to a double down in the picture round. They knew every one of those album covers! I'd like to see their CD collection.
For the chili cheese round I asked teams to name 5 of the top 20 most commonly used English words. This was a LOT harder than it sounds -- "an" is not in the top 20, despite most teams guessing it. Finally regulars OBHave came through and won the gooey prize.
