HELLO Trivia fans! What a night we had at OB's! Rain be damned... a more welcoming crowd or amazing and friendly staff a humble subbing Quizmaster could not have asked for!
The NINE, big, rowdy teams we had didn't let all this mushy Valentine's lovey dovey-ness get in the way of a fierce competition. Everyone knew their Hanna Barbera cartoon characters in Round 2 - which could have been the highest average scoring round until later, with some successful double down action that skewed those averages right out of the glistening ocean water across the street. BONUS: all these fun facts & stats confirmed by the official KING TRIVIA spreadsheet, created just for the occasion by yours truly (check her out in the pics.. eat it up, nerds!).
Now can we talk about the chilli cheese fries round? The incredibly creative candy conversation hearts speak for themselves, which is great as this QM is speechless over some of the choices...
There were tears, birthdays, and a couple broken hearts with unsuccessful doublings later in the game, but all in all a great night at OB's. Shout out to Jo for letting me fill in!

Super crowded house at OB's! Good thing nobody bet on this game because it was extremely unpredictable from start to finish! We had many double downs, many busts, and a couple of dramatic triumphs!
In the chili cheese round, Alex Trebek Is Our Bitch had the closest guess (15,000) to how many times the word "Harry" appears in all seven Harry Potter books (16,612). The rest of us stared longingly at that gorgeous plate of comfort food.
But chili cheese doesn't count towards quiz glory. Teams jockeyed for first place throughout the game, but in the end, Misunderstood Killahz took a brave chance at NOT doubling down -- and it worked in their favor! Congrats to a beloved regular team for the win!

There were some really hard questions this week but everyone had fun losing together. One of our weekly regular teams didn't show up -- but for one member! But the WALLET of El Segundo was not daunted and completed the game solo. He even won the chili cheese round. When all was said and done, another loyal regular took the glory - congrats to a solid win by Architects of Destruction!
