Wednesday night was a win for the Dodgers and a win for a few teams at Pineapple Hill. It was the closest game I have ever seen!
BSFV All-Stars and Dong-Kirk started the night of strong with a double in the first round. Then Defensive Indifference pulled ahead in the Round 2 with a successful double.
In Round 4, everyone got an unintentional musical clue when my shuffling music played "Born in the USA" - an odd coincidence since the answer was "Bruce Springsteen".
There was also another coincidental hint in Round 5 when one of the questions was "What position does Clayton Kershaw play for the Dodgers" - all anyone had to do was look on the giant screen and TVs for the answer.
Round 5 stumped a lot of teams, but not Matching V-Necks who jumped into the lead with their successful double.
For the drinking round, teams made paper airplanes and threw them in the parking lot. Matching V-Necks flew the farthest, so they won the drinking round.
Going into Round 7, it was just a 1 point difference between 4 teams - Defensive Indifference, BSFV All-Stars, Matching V-Necks and Dong-Kirk.
All 4 of those teams doubled, but sadly Defensive Indifference was incorrect and that put them out of the running. That put BSFV All-Stars in third place, one point behind Dong-Kirk, who was only one point behind first place team Matching V- Necks (who won BOTH the drinking round and the game!)
Join me next Wednesday for another fun game of trivia!

Fun night playing at Pineapple Hill on Wednesday! Gazpacho unsuccessfully doubled the first round, but they soon came back in the game during Round 2.
During Round 3, The Curtis Granderson Experience and Gazpacho became tied for first place and stayed tied through Round 5. During Round 5 they both successfully doubled, figuring out the clues and the connection of palindromes. I played the ABBA song S.O.S. after the round (see what I did there?!) much to my own amusement.
In Round 6 The Curtis Granderson Experience pulled ahead by one point and ended up staying in the lead through Round 7 to win the game. Gazpacho was dethroned and came in second, with one-woman team I'm Just Here for Rebekah (aw shucks) in a solid third.
Join us next week for another fun game!

"The teams have been sworn in with the rules. The teams may grab a quiz book and a pen and have a seat." -Officer Byrd
"Teams, you've been brought here becuase all of you were playing to win first, second and third place prizes at Pineapple Hill Saloon in beautiful Sherman Oaks.
Now, I looked over everyone's arguments and everyone has a point in winning.
First... HEY HEY HEY! No shouting out the answers! First, Polyamorous Platypous. You're answers were clear and presentable. Unfortunately, your knowledge of Athletes Brand Logos didn't get you far. You don't get 1st! Judgment for you is 3rd place!
Next, The Donner Party Train. Look, you bring a good point that Woody Allen wasn't married to Mia Farrow, but do I have 'stupid' written on my forehead? Huh? Remember I'm the one that ask questions. Hold on one second... HEY! NO LOOKING ON YOIR PHONES! PUT THEM AWAY! Now, you had a case coming in first in this game, however you Doubled Down in the sixth round and that made you get a GOOSE EGG! A NOTHING! Judgment for you is 2nd Place.
Dig Your Own Grave and Save. Look at me. "Um" is not an answer. Judgement for you is a free round of drinks.
Now, Gazpacho. You have been coming to Pineapple Hill every Wednesday. Your team nearly dominates every week. You Doubled Down in three rounds and got a perfect score. What makes you think you deserve the points you get? I'll tell you. You guys played very well. Now, I have no doubt in my mind that if you can nearly win every week if you work together and not get frustrated every time you can't get an answer. However you played well and I shall award you for your hard work. Judgment to the winners for first place. Thank you for the pen back. Now get out." -Judge Judy
"Parties are excused. You may step out" -Officer Byrd
