Boy was it a close game on Wednesday! Four teams were tied for first after round 1, which dwindled to 3 teams tied for first in round 2.
Then in round 3 Pacific Courier pulled ahead by 1 point, leaving Gazpacho and Silent Night tied for second.
(Because we were playing silent trivia, round 5 was handed out before the typical round 4). Both Pacific Courier and Gazpacho doubled rounds 5 and 6, with Pacific Courier just one point ahead. That all changed in the second to last round when we finally played round 4- Gazpacho got it one clue sooner than Pacific Courier bringing them into first place.
in the final round, everyone put the same right answers and all got 9 points total, keeping the score as it stood going into the round.
for the drinking round we played "over or under" with some cards and Scott's Tots won a round of drinks!
The nights are getting longer, the days are getting colder but the Wednesday nights are HEATING UP inside Pineapple Hill Saloon! Five teams played seven rounds of trivia, three gift cards were won and one amazing time was had.
Tonight's game was quite the roller coaster; round one was taken by Gazpacho, who successfully doubled down. In round two every team doubled down and every team got all the answers correct! Moving into round three tow teams were tied, and second thru fifth place was separated by only three points. After a difficult round four Gazpacho still held the lead and two more teams were tied.
But things changed during round five. Gazpacho and 9/8 Central both doubled down successfully and separated themselves from the other teams (two of which were tied).
Then... we all took a break and played a drinking round of anagrams, which was won by Gazpacho. After everyone was thoroughly sloshed and rested, we picked back up at round 6 and things. Got. Real.
9/8 central, previously 9 points behind Gazpacho for the lead, successfully doubled down and shot to first place. Behind them were Gazpacho, followed by PWKC and More Popcorn who were tied (there were five ties during this game).
Which brought us to round 7, where contestants guessed the most populous countries in the European Union. Riding their previous successful double down and 9/8 Central was able to slide into first place.
Congratulations to all who played, and thank you to Pineapple Hill for having me sub! Have a great halloween, all!

It was a night of silent trivia but the teams tonight still brought the noise! Despite playing in the glow of the tragic Dodger's game, the players were able to focus and knock the questions out of the park -- PUNS!!
The first and second place spots were fought for tooth and nail by More Popcorn and Gazpacho, but with two successful double downs, Gazpacho was able to walk away with top spot!
Perhaps the biggest twist of the night came when fourth place Scotts Tots (great name) rocketed into second with a successful double down, which helped them take home third prize! They were also winners of the drinking round thanks to their great superhero drawing of Palmetta (pictures posted above!)
Congrats to the winners and thank you to everyone who played! See you next week for a very normal, potentially loud, night of trivia!
