What a wonderful night for a triumphant (if not only occasional) return! So many friendly faces were there as we said goodbye to Dave the bartender on his final trivia night. For me, there were lots of new faces, too, and teams packed the room. I fought the new digital scoring system valiantly, eventually only being to be yelled at a few more times by a few courageous players who helped me out; honestly, thank you.
At the end of the night, Dungeons and Flagons rose to the top with 59 points after a successful double in the List round, earning a $25 gift card. Joanna & the 7 Dwarfs bested Team Stark by two for the second spot and a $15 gif card at 46. Team Stark legged in this with 44, graciously giving their $10 gift card to Zombie Tsunami who came in fourth.
It was fantastic seeing you all, and I'm going to try not to be such a stranger for so long. Come out next time to show off all the knowledge with good friends and great beer at Great Change.
Dave, out!
Multiple teams with the same name? Newcomers halfway through? Scores across the board?
We had them all tonight and it certainly added to the excitement!
After a few technical snafus, we were able to get our teams into action for some trivia. Our first half went pretty smoothly, most teams staying neck and neck with each other and not letting one Chris outshine the other. In our second half the Double or Nothing bets were flying from every direction.
Dungeons and Flagons was having a few hiccups toward the beginning, but kept up with the pack. That was until they used teamwork to recognize the power of the sidekick. They kicked their way into third place.
Scott’s Tots had a strong score from the start. They didn’t let any team fly by too far and made sure to pull off some perfect scores in both round five and six. These scores helped them achieve second place.
Team Stark once again showed their knowledge for the night. They pulled off a Double or Nothing in round five and had almost perfect scores the rest of the game. This was their time zone to win and were ford tough enough to pull off first place!
Tonight’s DJ score to beat was 37.
It was a packed house tonight. Our teams were not only fighting for a table, but they fought for the top spot in trivia!
Our teams were on each other like a Jet versus the sharks! They kept the beat and snapped their answers into the app.
More Cowbell recognized when there was a fox in the coup and got the full ten points in round four. They had a consistent high score and even a Double or Nothing in round six. They put in the work and took home third place.
So Stupid did not live up to their namesake, receiving perfect scores in the first three rounds. They didn’t stop there, they had almost perfect scores the rest of the game and also pulled off a Double or Nothing in round six. This was enough to place them in second place.
Tequila Mockingbird had a plan, and that plan was to dominate the competition! They had three successful Double or Nothing uses in rounds three, five, and six! Their score kept taking leaps and bounds, conquering the old west, and showing the rest of the competition what the prime spot was, first place.
Tonight’s DJ score to beat was 46.
