What do this weeks 9 teams all have in common? They've got the handsomest quizmaster on the BLOCK! and to show their appreciation, they turned out in rare form.
"DTG" dominated round #1 with the only successful double-down, but would ultimately fall short of placement by one point! Better Luck next time, dudes.
Round 2 Saw the long-awaited return of "We Thought this was Speed Dating" after weeks and weeks of breaking hearts; actually speed dating, one assumes.
Round 3 saw a few goose eggs and the second and final successful double-down from "DTG".
Jason Bourne may be good at escaping harrowing situations, but not tonight's teams! Almost everyone correctly Identified this rogue assassin.
"Patty Cakes" took the brew in the Drinking round, and nursed their prize all the way til the end, and a sweet finish it was, although we're getting ahead of things.
Round 5 was an interesting one, with only a few teams correctly finding the connection, and Round 6 tried the knowledge of art and geography at the same time.
In round 7, teams tried to identify the losers of the MLB and a YA fiction Trilogy, though only a few would be able to do more than just some. One of those teams was Last Week's Champion "Flying Solo" who doubled-down successfully and soared again to the podium, although this time in second place. ONLY ONE POINT behind "We thought this was speed dating" teaching us once again that returning your pens and registering your team matters. "Patty Cakes" secured third and added a 4-pack of beer to their drinking round prize.

Lots of newcomers came out to challenge our regulars, and they gave no quarter! Hot on the heels of the leaders, every round they were quite the competition!
Round 1 had a fairly bell-curve spread, with "Heavy Drinkers" leading the pack. The next round saw every team scoring 6 points or above, with "Flying Solo" taking a commanding leap into the lead with a successful double-down.
Round 3 was a bit tragic, with teams mostly scoring 3 points or below, including some harsh goose eggs, and Zoe Saldana knowledge dramatically split the field with Center Stage fans pulling ahead with 8 points, trailing more than a few -1ers.
Round 5 brought a little bit of magic back as more than half the teams scored over 8 points- but What's this? (an interrobang) FLYING SOLO DOUBLED DOWN AGAIN? which for round number 5, put this possible Icarus 11 points ahead of the nearest challengers for the round.
Conservative playing kept teams from Doubling again, except for a few forlorn hopes.
The night finished off with unregistered "Team Zombie" taking Third, "Make Trivia Great Again" Second, and "FLYING SOLO" snagging a most victorious and individual First Place.
The night started off with a wide field, with "make trivia great again" getting a successful double down. In Round 2 "make trivia great again" repeated their success, this time joined by "rehab is for quitters". It was a bell curve for the rest of the teams.
Round three saw everyone scoring around five points, except for "make trivia great again" and "the late additions" with successful double downs. Round four saw a little more conservative tactics with most teams waiting until the six point clue to turn in their (mostly) correct answers.
As teams began to throw in the towel watching the leaders making leaps and bounds, only the valley and cobra Kai would challenge the two big hitters of the night, and become The only of the three teams to reach the podium to do so without ever doubling down.
