QUIZ RECAP

It was an tense night at the ol' bootlegger...er I mean completely legal distillery, J.J. Pfister! Our teams were tested on their knowledge of fake cooks, fake celebrities, and very real kickboxers! 

The first several rounds saw several of our teams tieing for first and second place, but as the night went on, the cream rose to the top! In round 5 Jackie Daytona: Human Trivia Player, who is a very real person and not a vampire at all, took the lead and managed to hang onto it the rest of the game. Beyoncé Knowalls was close on their heels the whole time, but ended the night in second. 

Honorable mention to The Walking Brain Dead (who are adorable btw) for taking home the MYSTERY PRIZE for the team that doesn't lose!

QUIZ RECAP

It might have been one of our busiest trivia nights ever at JJ Pfister Distillery and the hellish heat guaranteed me plenty of company indoors (where it’s wonderfully air conditioned).  Rounds tonight ranged from TV shows that take place in space (one of my favorite topics ever) to Pride and Prejudice.  Regulars Team Chad and The Faculty both got off to a strong start in the first two rounds with successful back-to-back double or nothings.  They remained close through most of the night, with teams The Fancy-Ass Burgers and On Fire not far behind.  However, round six (which asked our teams about movies with body parts in the title, think Cool HAND Luke) saw multiple teams successfully double, which launched Team Chad into the first place position going into our final round.  Our last round asked our teams about the United States’ adversaries in World War II as well as boxers who managed that rare feat of besting Muhammad Ali (sorry to the teams who put down either George Foreman or George Foreman Grill, he wasn’t one of them). 

In the end, team On Fire was able to pull off an upset in round seven with a successful double or nothing, launching them into that first-place spot while Team Chad clinched second place.  Returning team Hanging With My Gnomies won that elusive second to last place prize. QUIZ RECAP

I was happy to see a mix of returning and new faces tonight at JJ Pfister for a festive night of trivia.  Teams were grilled on topics from Denzel Washington movies to the names for various groups of animals (not sure why they had to do the pandas dirty by calling them an embarrassment).  It was a close race from the start, with team Brain Drained taking the lead early on and hanging onto it until round when, team 3 Answer Sheets to the Win pulled ahead with a successful double or nothing and regulars The Faculty launched into second place with a strong showing.  In the end, it came down to a round that asked our teams about the actors that had received an Oscar nominations for their work in the three Godfather movies (why wasn't Diane Keaton nominated?).

In the end, team 3 Answer Sheets to the Wind was able to hold onto the top spot of the night while The Faculty took second place again.  Team Brained Drain claimed the elusive mystery bag of the night and the goodies that it contained.  Come around on Thursdays at 6:30 for drinks, trivia, and a little escapism!
