We were blessed with another cool (for July in Sacramento) evening so our teams were free to enjoy both the indoor and outdoor seating at JJ Pfister. Rounds tonight ranged from identifying US states based on close-ups of maps to green eggs and ham (no, not the Dr Seuss book). Team Famous Godfather 3 Quote (which I’m guess is “Just when I though I was out, they pull me back in!”) got off to an early head start in the first round with a successful double or nothing. After an unsuccessful double or nothing in round one, team Huh?? began to stage their comeback in round two with a successful double or nothing. Teams Huh?? and Famous Godfather 3 Quote had a back and forth battle for the first place throughout the game until we reached final round, which quizzed our teams on recently departed SNL cast members and the wives of Henry VIII (big shoutout to Anne of Cleves and Catherine Parr who both got out of there clean).
When the dust settled, team Famous Godfather 3 Quote took the coveted top stop of the night while Huh?? took second place. Team We Forgot Our Name claimed this evenings mystery bag as the second to last place winners. Come around on Thursdays at 6:30 for drinks, food, and (most importantly as far as I’m concerned) trivia!

It was a packed house (both inside and out) at JJ Pfister tonight on a cool (for a June in Sacramento, anyway) evening. Our rounds ranged from the nicknames of American cities to a round centered around children’s book characters (all ones the you’d find at my favorite part of the school year, the Scholastic Book Fair). Out of the barrel of the gun, our teams were all separated by a mere two points so it was anyone’s game, but returning team Clan Stewart broke out of the pack with a successful double or nothing in our second round. However, teams Army of Dorkness (one of my favorite team names of all time) and Stoners were hot on their tails with strong performances in our subsequent rounds. When we reached our last round the top four teams were within a few points of one another, but we reached that dreaded topic that you either know or don’t know: video games. After our teams were asked to identify the most “iconic” video game characters of all time, the dust settled to find team Army of Dorkness in the top spot.
Team Army of Dorkness took the top spot of the night while Stoners took second place. Team Smartinis won the elusive mystery box of the night after I warned them not to be too creeped out when I hovered over their table to find out what was in the mystery box. Come around on Thursdays at 6:30 for cocktails, food, and trivia!

It was a packed night at JJ Pfister Distilling Company and, due to the hellish heat outside, I enjoyed much more company indoors than I’ve grown accustomed to on more temperate evenings. I was happy to see a mix of new and returning faces. Returning teams The Defectors and Team Chad got off to an early head start, both with a successful double or nothing in the first round. However, newcomers Acheson started to gain on them in round three with their own successful double or nothing. Questions tonight ranged from a Miami Vice themed round to LA landmarks. By our final round, our top three teams were separated by a mere two points. In the end, it came out to a round that asked our teams to identify the “greatest” Canadians (according to the Canadian Broadcasting Company).
In the end, Acheson took the top spot of the night and regulars Team Chad took second place. Team Trivia Rookies won the mystery bag of the night. Come around on Thursdays at 6:30 to beat the heat with some cold cocktails and trivia!
