QUIZ RECAP

A great beginning and a raucous kick-off at Kilarney’s Live Irish Pub in Fairview, Texas last night.  The crowd was small (compared to the cavernous space) but quite vociferous.  Elements from team IFFY! made their way over from their normal digs at the L&C in Allen and helped inaugurate the newest member of King Trivia Pub Quiz by showing the newbies how to do it with a third place win! 

Welcome to newly registered teams The Divorcee’s (winner First Place!), Teamo Supreme-o and Twiggy’s T*rds (Second Place winner!).  Also, a shout out to those teams who played without registering, thus handicapping themselves (remember kids, registering your team on our website gets you an extra 2 point bonus!), The Pirates (Arrrgh!), Crypto-VR, Team Barbie and  lonesome, friendly old Ray, who created his one man team called “I Want the Free Beer!”  (An on-the-spot christening when he helped himself to one of Quizmaster Lou’s quiz booklets and tried to snag my pint as well!)  Kudos to Ray, who plays regularly at the L&C in Addison where Quizmaster Christian Gonzales holds court, who drove all the way over from Arlington to help start the KTPQ here in Fairview!  Thanks, Ray!  (And hands off my beer…) 

Kilarney’s is a great pub with a huge floor of tables and booths, a classic, long bar, a stage and a dance floor for the live bands on weekends.  If you’re an Irish-ophile, they also have an incredible selection of Irish whiskeys which look tempting.  One particular label caught this aficionado’s eye called Hell-Cat Maggie.  I have no idea of its pedigree, but sometimes I’m a sucker for marketing.  Kinda reminds me of this girl…  Um, never mind.
