About Mudrock's Tap & Tavern

Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps.   And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

Spooky good fun tonight at Mudrock's! Both Dry Heaves and Jetstars hit succesful double-or-nothing tries right out of the gate.....and they were out in front of the pack the rest of the way.  Taylor's Version were (co-)high scorers in Rounds 2 & 3, but they later fell victim to the "might as well double to catch up" mentality and faded down the stretch. One quirk tonight: every team answered in the Guess Who round....and no one got it right (Dean Koontz). Dry Heaves hit a double in the Find The Connection round and were never challenged thereafter; Jetstars held on to take 2nd place in front of a fast-closing Spooky Pookies team that were steady throughout. Thanks to 1st-timers chicken tiddies and Travis Hunters Liver (it's a Colorado thing) for sticking around to the end, come on back next week.  See you all then!

Wow, what a night at Mudrock's!  Between Nuggets opening night, Avs game, NLCS Game 7 and ELEVEN TEAMS to start, there wasn't an empty table in the house! Dry Heaves set the tone for the night with a successful double-or-nothing in Round 1 (along with Taylor's Version), and they never looked back; in fact, Dry Heaves hit THREE doubles on the night (plus 10 of a possible 10 in the final round) and cruised to victory with 75 points, the highest score we've had in a long while. Dead Man's Party were the only team to Guess Who correctly for 8 points, and finished strong to take 2nd place, surpassing Jetstars who successfully doubled in Round 3 but took a zero in the Guess Who round. Wooshkie were steady throughout to take 4th place, as were Old Flames in finishing 5th. A tip of the hat to Childfree, weeeee! who did well until they had to leave early to resume parenthood 😉

Thanks everyone for a great night!

Thanks for being here tonight, everybody.  We had a good, close game throughout, with 4 points separating all the teams through 4 rounds.  #momjeans made the first move with 8 of a possible 10 points in Round 2, but Taylor's Version and newcomers Geek In The Sheets countered with 8 points in the Guess Who round.  First-timers Stick N Move were consistent, scoring between 4 and 7 points in every round, and they gave a good accounting of themselves.  #momjeans made the big move of the night in the Find The Connection round (5), hitting a successful double-or-nothing to pull away from the pack; they held on to win comfortably.  Geek In The Sheets held off Taylor's Version for 2nd, pulling 3 points in front after the 2 were level after 4 rounds.  Thanks all, see you next week!
