About Mudrock's Tap & Tavern

Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps.   And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

Another good crowd, another good game tonight at Mudrock's. Dry Heaves ran away from the pack to win, scoring 4 doubles along with 10 of a possible 10 in another round plus 8 points in the Guess Who round; the real race was for 2nd place all night long.  Jetstars and This Lap Reserved By Your Mom also doubled in Round 1, while Taylor's Version were high scorers (after Dry Heaves LOL) in Round 2 with 8 of a possible 8 points. Dry Heaves, Jetstars and Your Mom were joined by Red Rockets in Round 3 in hitting a successful double, after which Killer Clowns and Jetstars EACH ANSWERED CORRECTLY FOR 10 POINTS IN THE GUESS WHO ROUND!! (First-timers Granny Panties were competitive until they took a -1 in that round)

Your Mom finished strong, going for 8-8-8-8 in the final 4 rounds to take 2nd place (they were high scorers in the last round), while Red Rockets' 6 in the final round was enough to edge out Jetstars for 3rd. Tip of the cap to first-timers Emory Sisters for staying in the running all night.  See you all next week!

Another REALLY great night at Mudrock's, thanks to everyone who braved the conditions to get here! No fewer than 5 teams hit successful double-or-nothing tries in Round 1: Dry Heaves, Taylor's Version, #momjeans, Jetstars and Old Flames. To take the suspense out of this...Dry Heaves were at least tied for high scorers in EVERY round tonight, and hit 4 doubles on the way to victory, while the other 4 teams previously mentioned jockeyed for 2nd. Born To RUN-ner Up were also in the mix after they hit a double in Round 3 (along with #momjeans). Taylor's Version seemed out of the running after taking a -1 in the Guess Who round....but they rebounded with 20-20-6 down the stretch to finish 2nd; I'd have been disappointed if they (of all teams) hadn't gotten the Travis Kelce connection in Round 5. A tip of the cap to first-timers COARK for their double in Round 6 (they went out on top as they left right after that; young kids, y'know). #momjeans finished strong to take 3rd, while Old Flames and Jetstars tied for 4th; no fewer than 5 teams scored at least 60 points, an excellent showing all around.  Get home safe everyone, see you next week!

A great turnout, a great game, a great time at Mudrock's tonight! No fewer than 3 teams hit successful double-or-nothings in Round 1: Dry Heaves, Aggie Oneida and Jetstars.  Colorado Avocados were high scorers in Round 2 with 8 of a possible 10; hats off to Leaky Wine Bag, who scored 7 in that round WHILE still covering his shift. Dry Heaves and Aggie Oneida each took a 0 in Round 3 (they would bounce back), but the big noise of the night was in the Guess Who round. I've been a quizmaster for 5 years, and tonight Taylor's Version became only the 4th team in any game I've run to correctly Guess Who for 10 points; gentlemen, I salute you!

Meanwhile, back at the game...Dry Heaves scored 10 of a possible 10 (the only team to correctly Find The Connection) in Round 5, and they held on to finish 1st.  Aggie Oneida were caught at the finish line by Taylor's Version, necessitating a tiebreaker round for 2nd place (and the $ that go with it!). Taylor's Version were closer to take 2nd, followed by Aggie Oneida, Colorado Avocados, and Jetstars.  Thanks to all who came out tonight, see you all next week!
