Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps. And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

Another fun night, and another great game at Mudrocks tonight! Taylor's Version converted a successful double-or-nothing in Round 1 to take a lead they held all night...until the finish line. Jetstars on the other end of the spectrum tried for a double and missed, netting zero and leaving them fighting uphill all night. Sitzpinklers were high scorers in Round 2 (6 of a possible 8), while Taylor's Version scored 8 of a possible 8 to maintain their lead after 3 rounds. When Jetstars took a -1 in the Guess Who round, they seemed out of the running while Taylor's Version & The Even Primes each answered correectly for 8 points. Jetstars hit a successful double in the Find The Connection round for 20 points, catapulting them back into contention, and they finished strong with 9-10 to score 19 of a possible 20 points over the final two rounds; Taylor's Version tallied 6-4 in those rounds to fall into a tie with Jetstars. But Sitzpinklers, after taking a zero in a failed double bid in Round 6, hit a successful double for 20 points in the final round to pass everyone and win the night! Jetstars answered closer in the tiebreaker question to take 2nd place in front of Taylor's Version. Thanks to newcomer Roo who hung in for 6 rounds until his battery died. Thanks everyone, let's do it again next week!

A fun night at Mudrocks turned into quite a game! Tuesday Night Club and Jetstars were high scorers in Round 1 (6 of a possible 6), and Tuesday Night Club and Sitzpinklers each hit a successful double-or-nothing in the Picture Round; in fact, through 3 rounds Tuesday Night Club had gotten them ALL right and led by 8 points over their nearest competitors. A tip of the cap to Taylor's Version for correctly answering the 10-point Guess Who clue, they are only the 7th team to do so in my 6+ years as quizmaster! Aggie Oneida, on the other hand, missed with their double bid and fell off the pace despite playing well all night. Things took a turn in the Find The Connection round, as both The Sitzpinklers and The Even Primes hit successful doubles to vault into a 3-way tie at the top with Tuesday Night Club; The Sitzpinklers then topped themselves by successfully doubling AGAIN in Round 6 to take a lead they would not relinquish; kudos to Sky Blue Grace for getting all 10 right in Round 6 - the geography class paid off! The Even Primes then nosed out Tuesday Night Club by a single point for second place. Well played, everyone, see you next week!

Wow, what a night at Mudrocks after a brief hiatus! No fewer than 5 1st-time teams made for an excellent game tonight. Stalwarts Jetstars and Taylor's Version were high scorers in Round 1 with 5 of a possible 6; in fact Jetstars jumped out to the early lead with a successful double-or-nothing (12 points) in Round 2, and they held that lead through Round 3. Both Chimichangas and Fuzzy Beaver took a -1 in the Guess Who round to fall off the pace while Taylor's Version made up 6 points on the leaders by answering correctly for 8 (high scorers for the round). Jetstars and Jafra Fog took a 0 after failed double bids in Round 5 (Taylor's Version and Quizzy Glizzies were high scorers with 8), and Quizzy Glizzies, after laying in wait all night, pounced with a 20-point double in Round 6 to jump the field and lead by a single point entering the final round. Taylor's Version's 6 bested their 4 to win by a point...and one team even bought me a beer! My thanks to you all, see you next week (playoffs willing)!
