About Mudrock's Tap & Tavern

Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps.   And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

We went old school tonight at Mudrocks...with pen and paper! A good crowd, a good game, what more could you want?  Jetstars hit a successful double-or-nothing in Round 1 to take the early lead, but die Sitzpinklers and Taylor's Version each hit a double in Round 3 and those two gradually separated themselves from the pack to vie for the lead all night.  Jetstars were doomed by an incorrect guess in the Guess Who round (the other 6 teams ALL got it right at the 4-point clue) while Die Sitzpinklers' successful double in Round 5 netted them 20 points and essentially wrapped up the win.  First-timers J Is A Sh-t Letter were competitive all night but their failed double bid in Round 6 took them out of the running; DSTers and JC & The Latecomers were neck-and-neck for 4th place (behind Jetstars)...it all made for an entertaining night.  A tip of the hat to Beer Battered, who came late and still almost caught the pack.  Thanks everyone, see you next week!

As always, thanks for a great night at Mudrocks!  The Even Primes hit a successful double-or-nothing try right out of the gate, and were never seriously challenged the rest of the way.  Beer Battered tied for high scorers in Rounds 2, 3, & 6, and they were steady throughout. A depleted Jetstars were game and held off first-timers The Gals for 3rd place; a tip of the cap to newbies TDSters for hanging in most of the night.  See you all next week!

Down to the wire tonight at Mudrocks! The Even Primes and Jetstars jumped out in front with successful double-or-nothing tries in Round 1, and in Fact The Even Primes led for most of the night.  They, The Stehpinklers, and 1st-timers Going For Bronze were high scorers in Round 2 (7 of a possible 8), and those 3 teams EACH tallied 12 points with successful doubles in Round 3 to separate themselves from the pack for the time being.  The Guess Where round was cruel (doling out a -1 to 3 teams), after which The Even Primes were comfortably ahead...until The Stehpinklers convertd a successful double in Round 5 to jump into a tie for first.  In fact The Stehpinklers nosed a point in front in Round 6...only to be caught at the wire by The Even Primes, whose 7 pushed them past The Stehpinklers by a single point: well played!  Thanks to Beer Battered who hung in there all night.  See you all next time!
