A night to remember for the #metoo era...

Let's start off by saying how awesome Kitty Curiosity (pic #1) was for making it out tonight!  We love our OG trivia teams here at King Trivia, and Kitty Curiosity can tussle with the best of them--Tea Lizards and Intravenous de Milo--we missed you guys!  KC came in third tonight, but won the Drinking Round--Name That Movie! I played ten music tracks that were featured in famous dance scenes in movies, providing the year of the film as a clue for each.  Bravo to Kitty Curiosity for guessing 7/10!

So sometimes as a female Quiz Master, we may have to deal with some unsavory things that male Quiz Masters may not have to:  like super drunken men who harass you in the middle of your game (ughhhh) ...

Thus was the case for Thursday.  Right in the middle of my "Find the Connection" round, a nondescript drunk man in a baseball cap came up to me with microphone in hand to tell me, "Nobody gives a F*** about Joe and Josephine or UCLA!  F*** UCLA!"  Thanks, dude. Go Trojans, I guess?

He continued on by asking me if I'd like him to list the reasons why UCLA is terrible and I continued to ignore him, but luckily to my rescue were the amazing ladies of ACTRIVIA!  (To be sung like the Activia Yogurt jingle).  They approached my trivia table and said, "Oh my gosh, thank you for saving our seats, we appreciate it!"  Needless to say, he did not come over again to speak with me now that my homegirls were by my side.

I just want to give it up for these amazing ladies (pic #2)!  Although they came in fourth, they came in first in my heart and also were the only team to get the correct answer for my final question in my Drinking Round challenge:  I played "Get Down Saturday Night" by Oliver Cheatham, which was featured in 2015 in the film Ex Machina!  That was a toughie, even I'll admit!

Thanks again, as always to our amazing staff at Barneys!  I had a blast.

After some mild speaker issues last night, we were saved by FREDDIE from Team "It's Fine!"  Thank you, Freddie, for helping us out -- the game literally would not have been able to happen without you!

We had some newbies this week that really made the game so much fun! Congratulations to "The Amount of Girls I've Had Sex With..." for being a first-time Barney's Beanery quiz team and winning the Drinking Round!

Intravenous de Milo is not just a brilliant team name, they are a beast here at Barney's Beanery, crushing the competition and coming in first to win a baller $75 gift card!

Chris is traveling overseas right now and getting away from all this torrential downpouring in LA, but he'll be back next week with his game show host voice on and killer pop song playlist!  Thanks guys for putting up with my post-cold voice and 90s tracks 🙂
