It was a terrific night of fun, frivolity and exciting trivia action this week at The Back Door Bakery Cafe in Sunland/Tujunga. With recent top performers Jen Kennings back in the picture after an exciting cross-country road trip to take 2nd place and fan favorites Shana Maidelas away for the night.
King Trivia Tournament of Champions stalwarts Hodge Podge returned to the top of the winner's circle with another strong performance, and It's Not Raining Men rounding out our top three.
As usual, the evening's festivities also included a heaping helping of contempt and disrespect for the quizmaster throughout the night - and, of course, that's just as it should be.

It's not a big surprise when Hodge Podge finishes in first place during our weekly trivia quiz at The Back Door Bakery Cafe in Sunland/Tujunga. After all, they are a powerhouse team that has competed in the annual King Trivia Tournament of Champions several times.
What was surprising was team leader Lorraine's decision to climb up on their table, swirl her jacket around in the air and shout, "we WON! We Won! We are winners and we won!" *
This was followed by a series of loud Woot! Woots! **
Lorraine is usually a fairly quiet, demure and well-behaved woman. But ever since she started working as an extra at movie shoots, she has - how shall I put this? - come out of her shell a little bit.
"She's out of control," teammate Lynn said after they got Lorraine down from the table and calmed her down. "Ever since she started hanging out with movie stars and celebrities, she's a different person, I guess it's true what they say: success in Hollywood is dangerous. We miss our sweet Lorraine!" ***

It was a terrific night of fun, frivolity and exciting trivia action this week at The Back Door Bakery Cafe in Sunland/Tujunga. With recent top performers Jen Kennings out of the picture on a road trip of some sort, Shana Maidelas asserted themselves with gusto, and took first place with an impressive performance.
But Duck Duck Goose didn't make it easy for the Maidelas. The DDG crew finished in second place, just two points behind the leaders. Two points! Man, that was close! Good job, Duck-and-Goose crew!
King Trivia Tournament of Champions stalwarts Hodge Podge returned to the winners circle with another strong performance, and Team of Won also did very well despite missing the first two rounds and playing as - well - a team of one!
The evening's festivities also included a fair dollop of disrespect for the quizmaster throughout the night - and we wouldn't have it any other way.
