This week's trivia quiz at The Backdoor Bakery and Cafe in beautiful Sunland/Tujunga featured a pretty good battle for 2nd place between Team Pudding (the eventual winner) and Oahu Pools (who finished third.)
This result was especially impressive when you consider that Carrie (Oahu Pools) was a team of one, and held her own in this environment where two heads are often better than one. But one head was all she needed to put the pressure on the Pudding crew (photo #7 above). Good job, Carrie.
As for the Shana Maidela crew (photos 4, 5 & 6) well, Robin threw wet paper towels at me again, and that one guy kept sticking his tongue out, as you can plainly see. There's noting like photographic evidence, right? I was gonna photoshop his tongue green, but restrained myself. Not sure why.
See y'all next week.

A nice back-and-forth battle for first took place between Hodge Podge and Random Name this week at The Backdoor Bakery and Cafe in Sunland/Tujunga.
In the end, it was Hodge Podge by a nose, but it was close, close, CLOSE all evening.
At the same time, the distaff members of Froot Loops and Shana Maidelas put much of their creative energy into harassing and generally disrespecting their humble quizmaster.
Not to worry, however. King Trivia provides training for how to deal with rambunctious quizzers such as this, and I will be re-reading Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew this weekend.
I am determined to meet this challenge!! See ya next week.
It was a night of love and laughter - and high scores - this week at The Backdoor Bakery and Cafe. Let's begin with the love part. Take a look at that happy couple smiling back atcha in the photo above. That dynamic duo is the brain trust called Team Pudding, who celebrated their 30 year wedding anniversary last night by racking up an impressive 69 points - finishing just one point shy of the winner's circle.
Now, as most trivia aficionados know, the traditional 30 year anniversary gift involves pearls, and the world is clearly an oyster for the Pudding crew. Congratulations, kids!
Our top team for the evening - Hodge Podge - pulled off the rare and impressive feat of answering every question correctly, and doubling every chance they could, winding up the night with the elusive perfect score of 110! Impressive! But it's not like the competition made it easy for 'em.
Take out second place finisher, for example. The Three Caballeros logged a strong 75 points, but could not provide an answer when the quizmaster inquired about a team calling itself The Three Caballeros actually had four members on the team. Curious...and suspicious, wouldn't you agree? We think it has something to do with the Russians.
AT the other end of the spectrum, and trying desperately to add points wherever they could, were Shana Maidela's and Froot Loops, who both declared that they knew the connection for Round 5 after the third question, and insisted that they should be awarded extra points for that. In fact, they insisted they be awarded extra points for all sorts of things, like kibitzing the quizmaster all night long!
To which I say NO! No kibitzing the quizmaster! We gotta maintain decorum!
See y'all next week.
