BDB uses only whole ingredients to make everything from scratch&by hand-condiments,dressings,sausage,lox,pastries,cakes,breadsNo fakes,noGMO,no chemicals.
It was an evening fraught with tension and excitement this week at The Backdoor Bakery Cafe in Sunland Tujunga, as two tough, tenacious teams - Hodge Podge and Shana Maidelas - gave it their all in a head-to-head contest of trivia titans!
In the end, when the dust had settled and the blood had dried, it was Hodge Podge for the win, with a tremendous total of 81 points. And, not surprisingly, it was a successful double-or-nothing in the final round that put the Hodgers over the top, while the always formidable (but sometimes timid) Maidelas provided a perfect ten answers but did not double in the decisive final round.

One of the best things about a rousing round of King Trivia is the opportunity it presents to make new friends! And that's just what happened this week at The Backdoor Bakery and Cafe in Sunland/Tujunga! We now count a quartet of lovely women calling themselves The Pink Ladies as newfound friends of the quiz, along with The Avacadoes, who attempted to make guacamole out of the competition, and had a good time doing it.
Elizabeth came in for a delicious nosh, joined the fun on impulse, and ended up calling her husband in to help her compete! Nice meeting you, Liz! Hope we se you again soon.
Of course, it's old friends that we treasure most, and two of our favorites: Hodge Podge and Shana Maidelas fought it out for the win - s they often do - before the Hodgers took the lead for good late in the game. Third place belonged to THAT Team, who combined trivia fun with trigonometry homework (see photo 9) and managed to balance both beautifully!

With successful double-or-nothing moves in the 5th and 6th rounds, Hungry leaped into first place and never looked back this week at the Back Door Bakery & Cafe in Sunland/Tujunga.
The aptly named Hungry ate up the competition, that included formidable efforts from Hodge Podge (2nd) and THAT Team!! (third)
The "best team name of the night" award goes to BDB in #1 (who usually plays as The Three Caballeros but apparently wanted to make a statement this week - a sentiment which we endorse wholeheartedly.
So, if you're hungry for some delicious food or yearning for some tasty food for thought, come join us for trivia next Wednesday at 6:30. You too could become a trivia superstar!!
