It was a fun night, filled with twists and turns. We started the evening with eight teams, and in the first round, we had some people who were quite pleased with themselves for knowing that K2 is nicknamed "Savage Mountain," but no one seemed to know that Hyun-Jin Ryu just signed with the Toronto Blue Jays in Dec.
In Round 2, three of our teams knew all eight of these video game fighters, and had the confidence to go double-or-nothing! 16 points a piece to Drunks of Hazard, Caucus Catastrophe, and Rainy With a Chance of Trivia this round.
Round 3 left at least one team feeling blue as they learned the theme was Corn and not something else. On the other hand, No Use For a Name left some points on the table by going double-or-nothing, and unfortunately missing one, costing them the round.
The Guess Who round went to Love Pit, for guessing correctly after just the 2nd clue, but left Drunks of Hazard still clueless after all clues had been given.
Round 5 was a tough one, with the highest score this round going to Triple T Trivia Triplets, securing 6 points for the team.
Round 6 is where Fresh Squeezed OJ started to inch their way up in the rankings, but it was Round 7 that really secured them in the top 3, showing off their knowledge of TV Dads, as well as Academy Award Actress nominees.
Rounding out the top 3 teams were Caucus Catastrophe in 1st, Rainy With a Chance of Trivia in 2nd, and Fresh Squeezed OJ in 3rd 🙂
Thank you all for coming out to play Trivia with us at Bar Charlie! See you all again next week!

It was a quieter evening this week at trivia at cozy Bar Charlie. Seven smart teams battled it out in whispers. Here are your highlights:
Round 2 was the highest scoring round I think I've ever seen. We had five teams get all the answers correct in the picture round, and each of them checked that double-or-nothing box, scoring 16 points a piece. The other two teams only missed one each, and strategically stayed away from that double-or-nothing check (smart thinking).
In Round 3, the theme was things related to "-ologies." My favorite answer that I overheard (but somehow didn't make it onto the answer sheet), was on question #1: What "0logy" is the study of amphibians and reptiles? when I heard HHT say, "I don't know, slime-ology?" lol
Our Guess Who round had We Got That Yummy guess a little prematurely after just two clues, costing them a point for an incorrect answer. But the rest of the teams, who waited for the 4-point clue, were all able to guess correctly. To be fair, it wasn't until the 4-point clue that we heard the most obvious clue, of being the Sega mascot.
Round 5, the teams need to Find a Connection between all their answers. And while it was neither the easiest, nor the hardest connection I've seen, I was a little concerned to see We Got That Yummy's answer of "beer" for question 9, and "Kid's Games" for the connection... what kind of Kid's Game is Beer?? 😉
Round 6 was a fun and interesting round. Rainy With a Chance of Trivia was the only able to match all of the non-human half selves with their mythical creatures/characters - great job!
And the final round had Love Pit going for it with a double-or-nothing play, which could have pushed them into the top if they had gotten all the answers correct, and would have tied them for fourth with Sleeping Booty if they hadn't checked the box. I appreciate your enthusiasm for the game!
Thank you to all who came out for trivia this week! Hope to see you all next Tuesday as well.
Top 3 teams were: No Use For a Name in 1st, followed by My Corona Has a Virus in 2nd, and Rainy With a Chance of Trivia in 3rd
We had a lot of fun and a full house this week!
Round 1 was full of general knowledge and the two teams who have the most general knowledge were No Use For a Name and Punderings, each getting all the answers correct.
In Round 2, our picture round of animal companions in the movies, our star team was Hot Girl Winter.
The theme round was all about rhyming with the word "year" or "years," and although I though we all learned about rhyming in elementary school, I did have one team ask what that meant... But this round had the most points scored for the night, with five teams scoring 12 points, by going double-or-nothing with all correct answers, one more team guessed all correctly but didn't double down, and two other teams doing alright. Shout-out to Fab 3 for their best (incorrect) guess, but still staying with the rhyming theme with "The Rear Fear Cheer Dears" rather than "Tears for Fears" on question 2.
In round 4, Punderings started to get a little ahead of themselves, and turned in their answer after the first Guess What clue, but guess incorrectly, costing them a point. The rest of the teams, however, were able to guess correctly after the second and third clues!
Great job to Pi Slices on Round 5 for being the only team to find the right connection between all the answers - Jennifer Aniston!
Round 6 was a tough one, with a lot of 2's coming in, and the highest score this round was 6 out of 10. Looks like people need to get reading this winter...
And the final round had three separate questions, keeping everyone on their toes.
Great job to our top 3 teams of the night: No Use For a Name, Lawdy Dawdy We Like to Toddy, and Pi Slices!
Thank you everyone for coming out and making it such a fun night for trivia! Hope to see you all next week!
