About Bar Charlie

Bar Charlie landed in the North Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle in December 2016. Bar Charlie aims to be a comfortable neighborhood bar featuring beers, food and spirits crafted in the greater Pacific Northwest.

Bar Charlie's interior concept is inspired by the history of the De Havilland Beaver Seaplane and is a mix of actual seaplane parts, wood, concrete and metal.  The walls have photography and art detailing the history of Seaplanes on Lake Union.

 

Bar Charlie was created by Christian Thomason with mentoring and construction assistance from Chris Navarra.

 

Bar Charlie evolved out of the desire to do something more than tackle an endless mountain of bureaucratic paperwork.  It’s intended to be a neighborhood gathering spot, a place to unwind with good drinks and food.

It was First Night for King Trivia at Bar Charlie's and it was awesome! Seven teams entered the fray and stayed engaged and competitive throughout. Christian, the owner, played the perfect host, and the food and libations were tasty! Right off the bat, three teams jumped to an early lead, with "4 Square", "Always Bring Your Chuck", and "Yippie-Ki-Yay Mr. Falcon" in the mix. Beginning in round 4, "Team 5-1-0" scored a 10, a 9, and another 10, to grab the lead away, pushing the others down a spot. Meanwhile, "Naughty Biscuits", "Turtle Swimmers" and "Stop Germs" were hovering outside the top 4, waiting for their chance to pounce. In round 6, "Always Bring Your Chuck" made a bold move and doubled-down successfully for a whopping 20 points, taking the lead back with just one round to go, and holding on to scrape out a 2-point win to nab 1st prize! "Team 5-1-0" settled for 2nd, with "Yippie-Ki-Yay Mr. Falcon" edging out "4 Square" for 3rd prize. I have no doubt that Bar Charlie will become a trivia bastion in Fremont!
