With all the talk and online chatter about Snowpocalypse 2020, we had a lighter turnout than our usual Tuesday crowd. But, we made the best of it! And Thank You, Greg, for spending your birthday with us!!
Our three teams went head to head to head, with Snow Day Jose starting out on top with 14 points in Round 1, going double-or-nothing, and showing off their General Knowledge.
Then in Round 2, our Birthday Greg's Team 5-1-0 knew all the books, but didn't double down, questioning their #3 answer of The Good Earth, even though it was right!
Not making the same mistake twice, Team 5-1-0 went double-or-nothing in Round 3, the theme round - but so did Snow Day Jose!
Keeping their lead in Round 4, Snow Day Jose was the only team to Guess Who correctly after just the first clue, leaving Team 5-1-0 and Char Barlie waiting until the 6 point clue to turn in their answers.
In Round 5, even though all three teams did pretty well on the first 9 questions, alas, none of them were able to find the right connection, leading me to a sea of boo's...
The Matching Round gave Team 5-1-bo0 a chance to take the lead with their double-or-nothing score, leaving Boo Day Jose and Char Boolie behind.
But it all comes down to the Final Round, keeping everyone on their toes, we had a question about the Best Picture 2020 Academy Award nominations that had just been announced the day before! It was a tight race to the end, but Snow Day Jose took the lead, getting all 9 nom's and the double-or-nothing, while Team 5-1-0 got 8 of the 9, giving them the 0 on the double-or-nothing, and Char Barlie also with 8 of the 9, not risking it, but not quite close enough to take the lead.
Great work for all of you who risked your lives leaving your house in such a snow storm! We love having you at Bar Charlie, and hope to see you again soon 🙂

We were back at it after a couple weeks off for the holidays, and Trivia was in full force. We had 7 teams and it was a close race for those fighting for the middle.
No Use For A Name came out swinging hard in the first round, putting them securely in the top spot with 14 points, while Oscar's team at least made on the board with 1. And the rest of the teams, well, they were right down the middle of the road, with either 4 or 7 points to start out.
In Round 2, No Use For A Name went double or nothing again, and scored another 16 points to their name that they have no use for. Those yellow-eyed characters had nothing on these guys.
Our theme round this week was about marsupials, of which, no one was an expert, but we still had fun.
Round 4 - Guess What? Oh, that's something we can't talk about. Rule #1... If you know, you know, and four of our teams got this one after the first clue, while two others had to wait until the final clue.
The fifth round was our connection round, which coincidentally also connects to what I had for lunch today. It's a great day when you can have some BBQ!
The matching round was a tough one this week. How do people know when these landmarks were completed?
Big shout-out to Levitate 3 LE's in the final round, who not only knew all of the 6-lettered last names of presidents - they knew ALL of the presidents names, and wrote them all down! Great job guys!
Our first place team had the lead all night - No Use For A Name!
Second place was Risk it For The Biscuit!
In third place, we had a tie between Levitate 3 LE's and Decade-Dunce (pronounced like decadence), and the tie breaking question, the square mileage of Montana, went to Decade-Dunce!

Debbie Double Downers started out at the top of the heap, and it was no coincidence that the other top teams in the first round all have numbers registered at KingTrivia.com.
We were all chugging along, with the teams keeping their statuses pretty steady until Round 5, when Brane and Donner, Dancer, and Blitzen tried for the Double-or-Nothing, and unfortunately missed the mark, causing them to fall a few slots down the list, and pushing The Flying Fuckers out of last place!
Then in Round 6, we had a huge upset, when Love Pit doubled down on the matching of books to the decades they take place in, bursting them into the top spot!
The Final Round was a tough one this week, with the two teams who had the most correct answers only got 7 correct, but two other teams decided to go for the Double-or-Nothing.
Lots of fun was had by all, as we saunter into the holiday season.
No trivia on 12/24 or 12/31, so I'll see you all again in the New Year!
