Fun times this week at Bar Charlie- complete with an "extra" hour of daylight (and the collective struggle that comes with a dramatic shift in people's sleep cycle)!
But if people were struggling, the NINE teams we had for this week's quiz were loathe to show it... except for the Guess Who round... a lot of -1s awarded for that one. However, they more than made up for it with every team hitting the Double or Nothing in Round 6! (Mathematically it didn't do much to change the rankings, but it was still impressive to see).
Speaking of rankings, there was only a three point difference between 1st and 3rd places so it was an exciting game all around!
Not to mention, there were many dogs in attendance- I even managed to get pictures of some of them!
See you next Tuesday!
Mardi Gras at Bar Charlie - what could be better?!
We started the night with 5 solid teams, kicking off with the General Knowledge, and all of them got the Tuesday FB question! Getting that social media attention! Then onto the NOLA picture round, in true Mardi Gras form. Round 4 was a stumper for some, with a couple teams who tried to jump the gun, guessing the wrong person.
Then at the start of Round 5, we had a new team walk in the door to join in the fun - thanks for playing, Late Bloomers!
In the end, there was some strategy involved with the Double or Nothing in Round 7, when Riffraff secured his #1 spot, and We named the dog "Indiana" was able to jump up to the 2nd place team, followed by That's Methed Up!
It was a great effort put forth by all team, and we had a great time. Even the dogs were into it 🙂

What a fun night at Bar Charlie! We had a great crowd, with 8 teams, 3 dogs (including the bar's namesake), and a ton of energy!
We started the night with some General Knowledge questions to get everyone's thinking caps on, and then it was off to the races. Some teams tried to turn in their round 2 answers before round 1 had even ended, but we were back on track after the first round of scores were announced. The picture round was "berry" fun, and kept some of the teams on their toes.
Round 3, what can I say... politics, politics, Paul-a-ticks... and a British accent (I couldn't help myself on question 4). As we moved on to Round 4, we had a great time figuring out the famous person, and most of the teams got it right!
Momentum picked up in Round 5, with finding the connection between all the answers, and most caught on to the tool shed references.
We all know there's no I in Team, but 2 i's in Trivia, and two teams for each of the players in the matching round. I have some work to do on my pronouncing of those sports names 🙂
In the final round, high school chemistry class came in handy with remembering the periodic elements.
All in all, it was a great night. Top 3 teams went home with some prizes - congratulations to Risk it for the Biscuit, Quizconsin, and Gimme sum Val-ium!
Let's do this again soon!
