QUIZ RECAP

Despite a surprise drizzle in LA's late afternoon forecast, we still had a TERRIFIC turnout at The Dudes! We had more than 15 players across 13 teams. Some teams were veterans, others newbies who just discovered our beloved game of trivia since they found themselves enjoying the libations and sports that The Dudes offers.

Our teams excelled through 7 rounds of play. Tonight's questions brought many players back to high school as we had some questions and answers that had to do with perfect square numbers. (If you didn't know what that was, then that was tooooo bad.) Another round asked players to match historic events to the president under which they occurred. My 11th grade AP US History teacher would have LOVED this one!

Our drinking round also encouraged players to dig deep into the corners of their brain to scoop up some geometry. I asked the teams to tell me how many gallons are in an Olympic sized swimming pool. Do you know? Well it's more than 600,000!!

QUIZ RECAP

This was a night of firsts for us at The Dudes Brewing Co!

First, we had an audition take place at our game! The hopeful Quizmaster joined us and read round three, which is our themed round. All questions or answers related to California, our dear home state. Players were delighted with questions Tupac's classic California Love, info on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's blockbuster hit "San Andreas" and the storied Alcatraz up north. She did a great job and we're all rooting for her as she navigates the King Trivia Quizmaster application!

Second, tonight proved that while big groups at trivia are fun, strength doesn't always rely in numbers. All of our top 3 teams were no more than 3 players. The first in this point is at least a first for me as a Quizmaster. One of our top three teams was just a single player, Drew! He was a strong contender throughout the whole night and came in third with just his individual knowledge. Way to go, Drew, and all of our first three winning teams. See their pictures in the recap!

Our third and final "first" was about our drinking round. All the teams LOVED the Survey Slam drinking round. It was many players' first time experiencing Survey Slam and it received rave reviews. Players want to come back to the Dudes on Fridays to play more!

QUIZ RECAP

September 12th brought us another incredible evening of trivia at The Dudes! We had 11 teams through 7 exciting rounds of play. We had Thursday Night Football on the screens and even celebrated a birthday complete with candles, ice cream and the whole bar singing HBD to Samantha!

This week featured some regular teams such as Quiz in My Pants and Triple B's, but also welcomed some newbies to the game. We welcome everyone - even babies! Yes, there was a baby at the bar.

This week's questions stumped some teams, but The Whole Kimi Kaboodle proved victorious as they edged out Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan in an unexpected tie-breaking finale! Do you know how many seats Dallas's American Airlines Arena seats for a hockey game??? Well it's 18,532 and The Whole Kimi Kaboodle was closest!

We learned a lot about Italian foods in our find the connection round and learned who are the biggest movie buffs in a matching round.

We always do a fun drinking round at The Dudes and this week's question was: how many miles of coastline does our beautiful California have? The answer? 840! The Indiana Colts of Trivia joined the game in round 3, but still scored fairly high considering the late start. That didn't stop them from winning the drinking round though! They were off by only a few miles.
