QUIZ RECAP

It was an oddly quiet night at The Federal in North Hollywood, but the teams who came, came to win! Competition was fierce starting off with a challening first round with scores landing across the board, but it was the second round that saw some standouts skyrocket to the top. Underdogs Seven used their collective British and Australian knowledge to be the only team to earn 10 points on the Guess Who round. Ultimately it wasn't enough to win the game as New Years Eve Nurses doubled strategically and dominated alongside the Certified Chodes. 

Creativety was needed for the drinking round where teams were asked by Quizmaster Yael to choreograph and perform a short dance to Uptown Funk. New Years Eve Nurses were not only the first team to jump at the assignment, but also the most syncronized. Gazpacho earned an honorary mention with Ismail dancing solo for his team.

In the end New Years Eve Nurses won the night, with an unexpected second place team. Gazpacho doubled the last round, overtaking Certified Chodes who dropped to third place. Next week wipes the scoreboard and it's anyone's game with a substitute Quizmaster as Yael will be absent.

What a wild night at The Federal in North Hollywood! Not only did 13 teams come to play, but there were also 4 adorable pups in attendance. 

Although Murder Hornets took an early lead, they were quickly outmatched as Gazpacho quickly overtook them for first place. The Picture Round proved which teams were of a different generation, with many of the younger players unable to identify Daytime talk-show hosts, but they ultimately had the last laugh with the final round asking for the 7 Horcruxes in Harry Potter. 

Due to a bit of disagreement and shouting in Round 3, and the surprisingly easy Find the Connection Round, teams were asked to earn their drinks with a poem about Quizmaster Yael. It was Lentils....After Dark who wooed her, but a tough call, as many of the poems were beautifully full of flattery. 

In the end Gazpacho held onto their lead, and NYE Nurses inched their way up, not far behind. But the real winners of the night were the doggos.

As with most Mondays The Federal was full with inquisitive minds, but trivia tonight felt like it was just two teams battling it out: Harley Quinnilingus and James Might Come Later. Although they weren't the only teams to double early on, they were neck and neck for most of the game. Quickly claiming first and second place spots, but often trading the lead.  

Surprsingly, the picture round and the connection round were relatively simple - the connection far easier than the pictures - but it was the final round which felt especially challenging (specifically with the lack of details as to what defines the "top 15 greatest albums of all time". 

Before the oddly challenging movie cars 6th round, an unexpected game of What's In Your Bag saw Certified Chodes earn a round of drinks. Ultimately, Harley Quinnilingus and James Might Come Later came out on top taking first and second place, respectfully.
