Another exciting night in the pursuit of all things trivial! 14 teams, comprised of 60+ players, put their noodles to the test in a Battle Royale for the crown as King Trivia champions.
Serendipitously, the teams were evenly divided between 7 first time teams and 7 returning teams. The night saw many a broken heart and uncertainty, as the leaderboard changed hands EVERY single round!!
Sailing in on the sea of knowledge, the Library Pirates doubled up and gained the leaderboard in round one. However, tides turned and the Pirates met their fate in Davey Jones's locker when team C'est La Vie apathetically took hold of the leaderboard in round two.
But perhaps being a little too nonchalant in their trivial strategy, team C'est La Vie bid "Au revoir" to the leaderboard in round 4.
Seizing their opportunity to shine, Our Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem walked themselves into the lead in a fashion that would make a sobriety checkpoint look like a catwalk! But perhaps having drunk themselves under the table, the leaderboard overturned again!!!
Rounding out the night, and claiming the crown as King Trivia champions, the team that is loose in the kaboose, team Slut Scooters!!!!
Until next time players!

Happy September from the Canterbury Ale House! Tonight's trivial pursuits welcomed in some old faves:
- Slippery Pigs,
- MER,
- The Knights of the Brown Table,
- Scott’s Tots aka Double Fisting Tomato’s, and
- Staying Positive Testing Negative
with new flaves:
- Team Team,
- StarFleetwoodMacAndCheese,
- Phat Boizzz,
- Newman’s Own, and
- Reese Withoutherspoon
For a total of 10 teams, and a collective of 40+ players!!
Round 1, team Staying Positive Testing Negative established themselves as fierce competitors by successfully going Double or Nothing. In fact, they maintained an aggressive 10-point lead over the opposing nine teams through Rounds 1-6, appearing to undoubtedly be crowned the night's champions...
HOWEVER; in the night's final round, 5 teams went Double or Nothing. Of the five brave teams, only two had successfully doubled their points (newcomers: Newman’s Own and Reese Withoutherspoon).
And making a real M. Night Shyamalan of the night, sleeper agent, Reese Withoutherspoon stole first place!!! But wait, THERE'S MORE.... After tallying up the points, we entered an instant death tie-breaker between Newman’s Own and Staying Positive Testing Negative, to determine who would take home the silver....
Correctly answering the tie-breaker question, "What band debuted in 1976 with the single 'Blitzkrieg Bop'?" with "the Ramones", it was newcomers Newman's Own!!!!!
As always, shout out to Canterbury Ale House for hosting, and to their amazing staff: Danny, David, Joey, Laticia, and Scott. And if ya missed us this time, be sure to catch us next week. Until then, Wes signing off. Xo
Ps. Honorable mention to team Slippery Pig for hilarious and awesome team name. 😹
