Salutations from the Cantebury Ale House! 18 teams, with a collective of 90 players joined us tonight!! With Danny, David, Jade, Leticia, Scott, and Boris keeping everyone fed and merry, we kicked off our night of trivial shenanigans!!
For the WHOLE night, veteran teams (the Library Pirates and We're All in the Same Boat) did not budge from the lead board! However; that is not to say that the contending 16 teams did not try their darndest, with multiple teams going Double or Nothing throughout the night!
But alas tides did not turn and the night saw the Library Pirates sail into first place with a grand total of 69-points and We're All in the Same Boat drift into second place with a grand total of 68-points! 🏆
In second-to-last place, two teams (the Bidet Boys and Witness Me) were tied with 27-points and entered into a sudden death game of Rock-Paper-Scissors!!!!
In the interest of peace and socialism, team Witness Me suggested the sudden death game of Rock-Paper-Scissors be forgone and the ever-coveted "Pity Pitcher" be shared amongst the two viying teams. But alas, the Bidet Boys spoke a resounding "fuck no" and went on to win the pitcher for themselves!!!
Until next time players....
Happy Wednesday from the Canterbury Ale House!! Wings were hot, beer was cold, STANDING ROOM ONLY (as allowed by COVID-considerate social distancing limitations) and all were vying for the title of King Trivia Champions!!
The contenders for the night were eighteen teams with a collective of 90+ players:
- Seattle Anon
- Homegrown After Hours
- We Came to Make Friends, Not to Win
- Whale Hoggers
- Library Pirates
- Benihanachristmas
- We're All in the Same Boat
- Come to Coney Island & Take a Spin on the Cyclone. Bing Bong.
- Team Abstinence
- Mercer Menace
- Dog Bag
- SPANK
- Participation Trophy
- Concussed but No Fuss
- Most Vertical Primates
- New Hires
- Butts 'n Cats & Butts 'n Cats
- The Really Really Really Good Looking People
For Rounds 1-4, the leaderboard was constantly changing hands and saw multiple teams successfully going Double or Nothing!!!
However; in Round 4, the tides turned for the Library Pirates as they sailed into first place…but by the end of Round 5, the Pirates found themselves capsized when We’re All in the Same Boat hoisted sail and rode the waves onto the leaderboard!!
Feeling the pressure, Rounds 6 & 7 saw thirteen teams put it all on the line by going Double or Nothing!! Would it pay off?! Would the night end in nautical nonsense?! Would the kitchen run out of tater tots?!?!?!?!
Well readers, Round 6 bid farewell to Team SPANK but proved fruitful for twelve teams as they successfully doubled their points for the round (Homegrown After Hours, Team Abstinence, Seattle Anon, New Hires, Library Pirates, Dog Bag, Concussed but No Fuss, Come to Coney Island & Take a Spin on the Cyclone. Bing Bong., Butts 'n Cats & Butts 'n Cats, Benihanachristmas, We Came to Make Friends, Not to Win, and Participation Trophy).
But in the end there could only be three reigning champs…..
In First place, with 76-points, The Library Pirates
In Second place, with 73-points, We’re All In The Same Boat
And in second-to-last-place, with 19-points, Most Vertical Primates!!!
A huge shoutout to the Canterbury Ale House for hosting and to their all-star staff: David, Danny, Scott, Leticia, Jade, and Boris! Also, shoutout to my mum (visiting from Nevada!) who surprised me at trivia tonight and to the WHOLE BAR for joining me in saying, “bye mum; we love you!!!!” upon her departure!
Ms. Westleebee signing off. XO
Happy Thanksgiving from the Canterbury Ale House! We had Danny, Laticia, Boris, Jade, David, and Scott working their heinies off slinging drinks and serving up delicious 50cent wings! The night started with a slight hiccup, with our mic and speakers deciding to take an early vacay; leaving yours truly to put all her years of vocal classes to the test by running trivia sans microphone!
(thank you to everyone for being super kind and understanding of the technical difficulties, and my sincerest apologies to the couple on their first date who were unfortunately seated directly next to this "scream queen" for the duration of trivia...)
Nonetheless, we carried on in the pursuit of all things trivial, and thank sweet baby Jesus, resident tech god Danny got the AV equipment up and running by Round 4!!
Thirteen teams, with a collective of 40+ players, put their trivial knowledge to the test:
- Stinky Cheese
- We're All in the Same Boat
- Most Likely to Fuck a Ghost AKA Most Likely to Stuff a Turkey
- Team Goose
- Hagus Dagus
- Slagathor AKA Team Mooji
- Hair of the Dog
- Plan B
- The Blue Team
- One Week Streak
- Traveling Trivia Team
- The Red Raccoons
- Turkey Jerkies
Teams Stinky Cheese and Hagus Dagus maintained an aggressive lead over the eleven contending teams for rounds one and two. However; in round three, 4 teams (Turkey Jerkies, Most Likely to Stuff a Turkey, Slagathor, and One Week Streak) successfully went Double or Nothing and took hold of the leaderboard!
Round six saw EVEN more upset when two teams (The Red Raccoons and the Blue Team) left the game and forfeited their places on our leaderboard, causing Plan B and the Traveling Trivia Team to enter into the running for the night's second-to-last-place-prize of the "Pity Pitcher"...
In the end, there could only be three...
in First place, with 71 points, Stinky Cheese!!
in Second place, with 50 points, One Week Streak!!!
and in second-to-last-place, with 30 points, the Traveling Trivia Team!!!!
As always, a huge shout out to the Canterbury Ale House for hosting where every Wednesday night it's King Trivia Night!!! AND TO LEAVE ON A HAPPY NOTE, a thanksgiving themed dad joke for all you readers (sorry, not sorry)....
Q: "Why did they let the turkey join the band?"
A: "He brought his own drumsticks!"
Until next time, WestleeBee signing off.
