Happy Wednesday y'all and exciting news, as today marked the official COVID business reopenings back to 100%, as well as the lift of the mask mandate!!! 🎉
Tonight's shenanigans welcomed in 6 teams with a collective of 30 players! Our contenders for the night were,
Newcomers:
and returning teams:
Danny and Laticia were serving up delicious food, while David and Joey were busy slinging drinks. With everyone fed, merry, and flashing all their beautiful, happy smiles our game got underway.
In Round 3, one of our returning teams, Lads Lads Lads gained an aggressive 12-point lead over the five other teams when they successfully went Double or Nothing.
Round 4, the Clue Round, stumped half of our players as three teams answered preemptively and incorrectly resulting in a negative point deduction for the round! 😿
Rounds 6 and 7 proved equally devastating for two of our newcomer teams: MAN and You're a Quizard, Harry! as they fell prey to the alluring pitfall of Double or Nothing and respectively racked up a zero for the round!
In the end, the newcomers faced their demise in their pursuit of all things trivial, with returning teams Lads Lads Lads and Butts ‘n Cats & Butts ‘n Cats securing first and second place respectively! 🏅

As the great Nelly once said, "it's getting hot in here, so hot; so hot..." Not only have temperatures been rising in the great PNW, tempers rose at the Canterbury Ale House, where every Wednesday night is King Trivia night, and man were egos aflame!! 🔥

For Rounds 1-3, all teams were even keeled; however, in Round 4 (the clue round) the night took an interesting turn... 4 teams (Practically Strangers, Butts 'n Cats and Butts 'n Cats, the Red Raccoons, and team Whoof) answered incorrectly and earned themselves a -1 point denomination for the round; with 4 teams () making a strategic move by NOT ANSWERING, taking a zero for the round vs. the negative point penalty!!
Round 6 promised even more excitement as 2 teams went Double or Nothing!! Unfortunately things did not pan out, resulting in teams Lads Lads Lads and Whoof earning themselves a zero for the round! 😿
Moving in to our final round for the night, it was anyone's game as leadership had been changing hands every other round... But in the end their could be only one... and in the end, they may have been strangers, but they came together for a common good and took home the gold... 🏅
In first place, with a grand total of 36 points, team Practically Strangers!! And winning via tie-breaker (and by a single point!) newcomer team, and fans have f all things feline and heavy on the bass, team Butts ‘n Cats & Butts ‘n Cats with 35 points in second place!!

Making an aggressive move in the first round, Pluto's People went Double or Nothing! Unfortunately they were a little too out of this world, missing the mark and racking up a big ole zero right out the gate!
But that wasn't the only mayhem the night would hold... In Round 4, the Clue Round, over half our contenders (The Knights of the Brown Table, Quizz on your Face, Pluto’s People, and VCRmaggedon), answered incorrectly resulting in a -1 point penalty for the round!!
Round 6, newcomers Quizz on Your Face went balls to the wall and went Double or Nothing. Well readers they came, saw, and conquered; successfully doubling their score by 20 points!
In our final round, two teams (The Knights of the Brown Table and VCRmaggedon) hedged their bets, going Double or Nothing. Because if you're going to go down, might as well go down swinging!! And swinging they went, as neither team was successful and remorsefully ended the night with a big ole zero! 😿
But in the end there could only be two victors... coming in second place with a total of 42 points, the one-man-team, Solo Doughnut! And in first place, with a total of 46, the Hash Slinging Slashers!!
