Happy Wednesday from the Canterbury Ale House, where every Wednesday night at 7 o'clock, it's King Trivia Night!!! Tonight we welcomed 14 teams with a collective of 57 players!!
Our teams for the night were:
With David and Joey slinging drinks behind the bar and Danny and Laticia serving up delicious food in the kitchen, we kicked off the night and got down to all things trivial!!
From Rounds 1-5, The Knights of the Brown Table, Climate Anxiety, and Scott’st Tots maintained an aggressive hold of the leaderboard. However; in the second to last round of the night, two dark horse teams (OTPUTTHJ and Quack Attack) who had been neighing around the outside track, galloped their pony asses to hit the inside track!!!!
But there could only be two reigning King Trivia champions.... perhaps the Knights? The Tots of Scott?? Maybe an overly anxious weather system?! Or perchance an underdog, barking its trivial vengence from the pits of Hades itself....
Well readers, in second place with a grand total of 44 Points, sailing into our leaderboard, it was team Library Pirates!!! (Side note/dad joke: "what is a pirate's favorite letter?" "Rrrrrr" "no matey, it be the C they love!" Sorry, not sorry 😹).
And in first place, with a grand total of 46 points, the team whose trivial knowledge was "under the table" and QUITE "handy", team OTPUTTHJ!!!!!

Round Two, 3 teams (Becky and the Jets, Starship Enterprise, and RIP Freddie from School of Rock) brought in 16 points by successfully going Double or Nothing, and establishing themselves as fierce competition.
However, the leaderboard switched hands in Round Five, when the Slumpy Joes and Lads lads lads brought in a 20-point D.O.N!!
Round Six, the leaderboard changed once again with 5 teams hedging their bets by going D.O.N. Lads lads lads once again doubled their score, joined by fellow contenders, the Crab Apple Pies!! Sadly for the Red Raccoons, Slumpy Joes, and team WAP efforts were not as fruitful....
But in the end, there could only be two champions.... in second place, with 59 points , they may not have the best posture but they're definitely far from sloppy.... it was the Slumpy Joes!!!!! And in first place, with a total of 66 points, Lads lads lads!!!!! 🏅

Amazingly, for more than half of the game, 5 teams stayed tied for first place with the remaining 6 teams being tied for second place!
However, tides changed and scales tipped in the final round of the night when two teams successfully went Double or Nothing!!
Riding on those birthday vibes, or perhaps because wishes really DO come true... our two birthday teams, the Birthday Bashers and the Thomhooligans, took home the gold and silver!! Happy birthday Jazmine and Tommy! 🥳
