About Hop Merchants Bottle Shop & Taproom

Hop Merchants Bottle Shop & Taproom is a craft beer bottle shop and tasting room. We offer 16 rotating taps of Los Angeles-area beer as well as a wide variety of bottles and cans from your favorite independent breweries, which you can purchase to go or to enjoy in-house (with $1.50 corkage).  We also have an open food policy, meaning outside food is welcome and delivery is even encouraged. It's all good!

Located in the NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood, California, our mission is to channel our passion for great beer, community, and create a fun, chill atmosphere for people to hang, drink, shop and debate the deeper mysteries of life...such as who would win in a fistfight between Batman and Captain America? What's the difference between partly cloudy and partly sunny?  If the Zombie Apocalypse started today, what would be your weapon of choice?  Why are there no such thing as B batteries?  If humans evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

What a great night for trivia! Tonight was PACKED. That meant hightened competition, excitement, and enthusiasm. Quizzers brought their A-game and it showed. There were a lot of new (soon to be familiar) faces along with our seasoned regulars. There was even a NoHo Trivia MeetUp who came in as strangers and left as a team (no literally their team name was Team). 

This was the week of Pank Panther! After weeks of just missing the top three, they hit their stride, found their groove, and came out of the night with a strong victory. Maybe it was because some of their team were jazzed on the Red Sox advancing to the second round, but who knows. 

Hey Mommy! is king/queen of coming from behind. While the first few rounds were a little rough, they came back with a vengence and took second place. Maybe next week they should come in third so they can come from behind the following week and rise to the top in league play. 

We Had a Bad Feeling About This had some extra help this week from their friend over the hill. While they didn't quite place, they had a very strong showing and really knew their Apollo 13. 

While they secured the glorious last place, Dodger? I Just Met Her won best team name for the night.

Welcome to Wednesday Night Trivia!!! Tonight was another wonderful night for trivia. We had a packed tap room and a lot of new faces tonight.

The leaderboard this week continued to take teams by surprise. Every round had a new leader, and this week's winner - Hey Mommy! - came all the way from last place to take home the big prize. 

Every team had their specialty round. Some really knew their party cities, some knew their ice cream, and some knew their famous couples. In the ending, perservenence and the use of the double down, separated the pack.

What a lovely night for Trivia! The teams came ready to play. The tap house was filled with deep deliberation, correct answer cheers, and 90s Hip Hop. 

This week was a repeat win for The Keg (like the 2018 movie The Meg) who mastered the double down with their movie knowledge. But not too far behind was Hey Mommy! who was often at the top of the leaderboard. These two teams really battled it out through all seven  rounds. 

This week tested our teams' early childhood knowlegde with some focus on our ABCs. While Z (or maybe just pop culture in general) highlighted teams' strengths, K countries not so much. In the end, all  teams left triumphant, with smiles, and hopefully wanting to come back.
