About Hop Merchants Bottle Shop & Taproom

Hop Merchants Bottle Shop & Taproom is a craft beer bottle shop and tasting room. We offer 16 rotating taps of Los Angeles-area beer as well as a wide variety of bottles and cans from your favorite independent breweries, which you can purchase to go or to enjoy in-house (with $1.50 corkage).  We also have an open food policy, meaning outside food is welcome and delivery is even encouraged. It's all good!

Located in the NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood, California, our mission is to channel our passion for great beer, community, and create a fun, chill atmosphere for people to hang, drink, shop and debate the deeper mysteries of life...such as who would win in a fistfight between Batman and Captain America? What's the difference between partly cloudy and partly sunny?  If the Zombie Apocalypse started today, what would be your weapon of choice?  Why are there no such thing as B batteries?  If humans evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

Our connection for round 5 was high school subjects and I think most teams felt pretty schooled, except for the team The Keg (like the 2018 movie The Meg) who correctly identified Brent Hartinger's first book. The team's a class act.

This host apologizes for two puns in one paragraph.

Baseball has crept up quite a bit recently and the teams who know their sports have been taking home top prize.

Believe it or not, that taking home pun was completely unintentional.

We had a brilliant time at Hop Merchants this week! Round 4's Guess Who? was a tough one with only 3 teams guessing correctly. One team chose not to submit at all at the risk of losing the point! Fleetwood Snack's double in Round 5 clinched the win for them and this host got a little nervous about how many knew the serial killer H. H. Holmes.

Each round had one question that kept every team from checking that double down box until round 6. The teams were battling it out, neck and neck. But several teams hit our baseball round out of the park and managed to double down on points. We Have A Bad Feeling About This finally won after several weeks of hanging toward the middle of the pack. And Foo Tang Clan celebrated their first placement as well! Congrats to all the teams.
