About Hop Merchants Bottle Shop & Taproom

Hop Merchants Bottle Shop & Taproom is a craft beer bottle shop and tasting room. We offer 16 rotating taps of Los Angeles-area beer as well as a wide variety of bottles and cans from your favorite independent breweries, which you can purchase to go or to enjoy in-house (with $1.50 corkage).  We also have an open food policy, meaning outside food is welcome and delivery is even encouraged. It's all good!

Located in the NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood, California, our mission is to channel our passion for great beer, community, and create a fun, chill atmosphere for people to hang, drink, shop and debate the deeper mysteries of life...such as who would win in a fistfight between Batman and Captain America? What's the difference between partly cloudy and partly sunny?  If the Zombie Apocalypse started today, what would be your weapon of choice?  Why are there no such thing as B batteries?  If humans evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

Strategy was important tonight as teams tried to guess who would double down each round. Donner Party of 4, A new team in town took first place, edging out Two Robs, Three Bs by doubling down in the 6th round. The nautical round went surprisingly well, despite Francis Bacon taking the wind out of some teams sails.

Our quiz saw the return of Boss Vic Koss, a Hop Merchants team that we'd been missing for a few weeks. Our first two rounds had almost every team within three points of one another and they battled it out to the very end. Ultimately Boss Vic Koss and The Keg clinched the wins this week but competition remains fierce.

It was good to be home for this trivia host! After being away for a week, I loved seeing everyone.

We had a fight almost break out - between puppies! Each wanted their team to take home the night's prizes. Round number 5 was a great equalizer, bringing up some teams who were less confident in their round 3 themed round. Bee Sharps nabbed that first place but a lot of it came down to the last question.
