Tonight pitted some new teams against some wily veterans as they clashed head to head in our trivia battle. Balutefisk started off strong, along with a couple of other veteran teams, but they fell to the middle of the pack and the grame progressed. Irish I were drunk, KABAM 6, the B Sharps, and the Con-Quiz-tadors all stuck together in the top spots as we made our way through the middle rounds. going into round #6 there were only 3 points separating the top 4 teams! In the final round though the Con-Quiz-tadors ruled the presidential succession knowledge by doubling down and blowing away the competition. For our drinking round tonight we were celebrating National Wyoming Day (who knew!) and KABAM 5 won a free flight of beer as they correctly guessed the population of the least populated town in Wyoming. It's Buford by the way, and only 1 soul inhabits that little town. True story. Join us next week for more trivia and more weird facts!
On this Independence Day Eve, it was standing room only at Rescue. Our talented and oh-so-lovely bar staff at Rescue were working furiously to feed and hydrate the crowd and doing a helluva great job of it!
Oh and did I mention we had NINE teams ready to get their trivia on? Oh yes we did!! And get it on they did!
KABAM5 took an early lead in the game, but ... look out, The B Sharps were having NONE of that! They leaped ahead and grabbed the top spot after Round 2 ... and kept it... kept it....
...taking a respite during the Drinking Round, where Women are from Venus, men are kept in my basement showed how they love to play with fire, and won the tasting board!
...and then The B Sharps continued to keep it... keep it... and they were ready to celebrate their top spot win where.. LOOK OUT, here comes Women are from Venus, men are kept in my basement, all freshly hydrated from the Drinking Round win, pulling a perfect Double win for Round 7, and snatched the win from The B Sharps by ONE POINT! WHOA! What a nail biter!
Congrats to Women are from Venus, men are kept in my basement for taking the win!
You won't see me next week (I know, I know... it just isn't the same), but you'll survive. Trivia will be on next week, and I'll see you in two.
Happy Fourth, everyone!

One of my favorite parts of trivia is seeing the comradery it brings...as well as the competitive spirit. This was more evident than ever last night as I watched a group of parents take on a group of their teenage children (spoiler....the parents walked away with more points), and the fun didn't stop there. There were a lot of cheers, a few groans, and some laughs along the way as everyone tried to climb to the top spot. My fun started a couplf of hours before trivia when I counted out 1,364 beans for our drinking round game.....which ended up being a hit as teams tried to figure out how many could possibly fit in such a relatively small jar. As always, it was another great trivia night at Rescue Brewing.
