QUIZ RECAP

A huge night at Barney's in WeHo tonight in a battle royale to claim bragging rights among the 24 gathered teams. Although The Muppets didn't really know any of the Muppets in Round 2's picture round, the guesses made for comedy gold. Someone thought Sam the Eagle was "Vulture from the Spider-Man movies" and that Janice was "literally any LA girl" or that Animal had names like "Crazy", "Feral" or "Lionel". But it was the find the connection round that really shook up the scores as no one but the Tea Lizards managed to figure out that all of the answers were Hills. Fun fact: Dru Hill's most notable member is Sisqo (of "The Thong Song" fame). In the end, knowing the connection gave the Lizards the win but Oversized Hat, It's Funny swept right into the 2nd place slot by knowing almost all of the primetime TV shows that were running past season 9. While many were still a bit hungover from Labor Day or ringing in the Jewish New Year, the real hardcores showed up to commence their long weekend with a trivia win. But, as many learn the hard way in poker, the house always wins. And win it did tonight as Go Fuck Yourself - including our beloved bartender Mike - swept the competition after some solid back and forth with The Kids Table and Tea Lizards. But it was Hail Hydra who kicked themselves just a little harder when they completely blanked on the names of the Golden Girls and missed a, well, golden opportunity to double and claim Hydra Supremacy at Barney's. This, of course, led to a three way tie for second place. Always a solid finish here at the Beanery.

Weenies managed to outplay, outlast and quite possibly outwit all of the other survivors on the island of Barney's tonight to take home the main prize and all the bragging rights that come along with it. Torches were snuffed as regulars Hail Hydra, Definitely Cheating, Touched by an Uncle and Space Godzilla put up their finest battles but ultimately fell during a particularly challenging Find the Connection round. Unfortunately that fumble put a "g'day mate" kibosh on winding up in the Final 3 where Tea Lizards and The Kids Table stepped up to snag their gift cards and applaud Weenies who snuck the win past 2nd place by one measly point.
