I was new to these teams tonight, and they welcomed me right in!

What a fantastic bunch of people.

The teams here were ready to compete!

On the round 4 guess who, most of them handed in a correct answer for a solid number of points. I was impressed, these teams are good.

Rounds 6 and 7 brought in a lot of high scores making it a tough race for the top spot.

Quizlamic state walked away with the number one spot, followed by Where’s Rachel in second and Harley and Ivy (winners of the tie breaker) in third.

Barney’s is an entertaining place to be for a night of King Trivia!

Captain's Log, Stardate 2018.3

There were more than usual tonight. Multiplying like Gremlins after the irregular LA rainstorm. Hungry for their HQ fix, wanting wings and trivia, they descended upon Barney's.

There was only me against the rising horde. My crew scattered, hosting their own horrors. Wielding a faulty pen and the answers, I held my own.

But they kept coming.

I clocked in a total of 38 warring tribes, each of them intent on coveting the gift card for their own.

I did my best to quell them but they kept coming. They knew Adam Sandler played Smitty on The Cosby Show. They'd grown up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. NFL franchise teams are what this world was built upon.

They knew - and they kept coming.

Their pens broke, their answer sheets got water on them, the team next to them was using some sort of electronic device - but through all of the pain and competition, they persevered.

Teams doubled and were successful. Some took guesses and were elevated to know they'd scored points for their team. The camaraderie was alive and you could feel it in the air. A pin could drop while the reading of the questions took place and you would have been able to determine where it had landed and the size of the pin, that's how quiet it was.

They were intent, listening, thirsting for knowledge.

These humans - they aren't so bad after all.

Except for the one that threw up in the urinal. He sucks.

Was it the impending rain? The lack of Netflix options? Or just the drive for competition that drove out 33 teams to fill up small little Barney's Beanery in WeHo so that there was literal standing room?

Either way, a lot of you played. A lot of you lost. But all of you had a good time in your downfall. And what more can you really ask for from a Tuesday night, right?
