People often ask me, "where do you get these questions from?"

The short answer is that they're emailed to me every day by King Trivia.

The longer answer is that King Trivia employs six elves who have six distinctly different jobs. One elf, skilled at cyber technology, is responsible for downloading the whole of Wikipedia into his pea-sized brain and formulating connections. He's primarily responsible for Round 5 and, sadly, needs to be replaced often as his minuscule mind can only handle so much before it shuts down completely.

The second elf, who's main focus is pop culture, handles Round 1 and is a technological construct of Twitter. His cousin, a troll, runs the popular social media site but this elf quickly browses current events and topics and pulls together a handful of questions that will fool the general public into believing they have a real shot at handling the questions thrown at them during the course of the game.

The third and fourth elf work together on the hand out rounds. It's mostly a cut and paste job and there's not much skill needed here but they're hard workers and the Elf Union requires us to make at least five fairly tale creature diversity hires.

The fifth elf is a well known biographer who excels at knowing the most obsolete details about various famous people, such as the names of their parents and the occupations of their great aunts and uncles. This elf is our Round 4 aficionado and she takes great care to provide trickery along the way, dropping small breadcrumbs that could lead players to second guess and doubt themselves even when all the clues are laid out for them to see. It's rumored that she's related to Loki, the Norse God of Mischief, but employees do not have to divulge any familial connections for fear of nepotism accusations by the dwarves tasked with putting together the King Trivia pens.

Our final elf, the sixth on staff, is the one who puts together Round 7. This elf must figure out which final question can be constructed as a last chance redemption or a grueling challenge. He's only given the one job as he works full time at Box Office Mojo, keeping track of domestic grosses of movies not adjusted for inflation.

Lots of talk about Roseanne tonight which always brings me back to an interview I saw George Clooney give on late night where the host asked him if he was on Twitter. "No", said Clooney, "because I drink. And I don't want to wake up the next morning and find out I destroyed my entire career because of something I sent when I was drunk." Smart, smart advice. Also, don't be a crazy racist. Solidly sound advice as well.
