QUIZ RECAP

In 1991, Eddie Murray threw me a baseball that he had just been throwing around before the game. This is one of at least three mildly interesting Dodgers stories I have.

A far more interesting story though, has to do with the Drinking Round this week, wherein teams were tasked with proving the oft-bandied assertion that the American electorate is for some reason more knowledgeable about government now than ever in recent memory. The metric for such a sounding: number of current US Senators named.

And indeed, all teams impressed with their knowledge, but none more than The Tragically Hip Replacements, whose 27 statesmen and women won them the right to drink a round of refreshments without money exchanging hands. Not only that, but I noticed one of their number, perhaps inspired to create by Bacchus' charge, as he was placing the finishing touches on a sketch that I noticed bore more than a passing resemblance to your humble Quizmaster. Perhaps it isn't meant to be a flattering representation, but I care not because...it's me! <wipes away tear>

QUIZ RECAP

In this latest edition of Tuesday Trivia at the Tam© (served with a side of Dodgers baseball) there was second place tie in the end - won by Baby Farting Part 3 for knowing perhaps too much about Applebee's - that ended things with a bang, and a Drinking Round won by Passive After-work) for superior knowledge of the Lakers all-time roster.

All that, and there will maybe even be a better recap for you to read once I get some sleep! I went to Disneyland this week, I'm still crazy on happy/sugar energy, sensory overstimulation, and legs that will need to be replaced. Like this text. Maybe. Stream of consciousness does sometimes has it's charm...

QUIZ RECAP

The following cypher was performed in front of a live audience (of two cats), delivered extemporaneously to commemorate the historic family feud fought by Floridians whose Jeers and Blunders will echo through the cloud-y Halls of the Internet until somebody accidentally unplugs the server rack and backup arrays that have this paged cached.

The strangers to my right were really quite polite,

and here I didn't think they'd even play!

With their keen insightful questions starting: "Sir!" with every mention

surely brains and heart would aid them on their way.

But alas, from the beginning, what opposed their hopes of winning

was a chasm formed by chance and happenstance.

Lacking one big enough table, our initiates weRen't able

to triv' as one. All was war and none romance!

Gentle reader, do envision what a ghastly dread incision

is that wound inflicted by one's family.

Naive babies kept from crying whilst their parents' hopes lay dying,

Innocent, they didn't help, yet didn't flee.

As with "all good things": so bad ones. It all ends, and so a sad son's

Public loss to his own blood he must live down.

For if not, he'll get but madness from that trivial unradness

When family slew family for silver crown.
