A well-earned, one-point win by Yer A Quizzard, Harry this week at The Famous on Brand in Glendale. (See photo #7 above to get a look at those triumphant brainiacs). This stalwart and intrepid group of quizinators racked up 67 big points to take the top spot on the scoreboard.
Additionally, in an example of the competitive excellence on display week after week at this most excellent venue, Pups & Suds (named after the latest diet craze) took 2nd place with a score of 66!
Hot on their heels were the lovely ladies calling themselves The Blanches, who finished in the top three with a score of 63. Now that's some tight competitive quizzing right there! Well done, everyone!
See ya next week.
A terrific evening of trivia fun was a tragic night of close-but-no-cigar disappointment for the wonderful team To Infinity & Beyonce. It began with the drinking round, wherein TI&B correctly identified the song titles and performers of all five songs, but missed the year-of-release tie-breaker by just one year!
Team Vitamin D! matched that 10-for-10 performance, and hit the year-of-release tie-breaker on the nose to win the drinking round!
Then, despite a tremendous performance across all seven rounds and an impressive final score of 69 strong points, TI&B ended up in fourth place when Trash Dogs edged them out of the winner's circle by just one point, scoring 70 to secure third place!
So close! SO VERY CLOSE, TI&B. Maybe next week? We're pulling for ya!
In other news, last week's #1, Bad News Barristers, provided evidence of the truth behind their team name when they fell to 6th place after winning it all just a week ago. Bad news indeed, Barristers.
(See what I did there? The Barristers provided evidence! Oh man, I just crack myself up sometimes!!)
And finally, frequent top-three finisher and King Trivia Tournament of Champions top 10 competitor Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink won the night with a terrific, tremendous, impressive 94-point performance.
And everyone booed. I mean, sure, it was good-natured, laugh-filled booing. But still, they booed. But the Jeopardy guys didn't care. They were feeling smug and self-satisfied after their dominating performance. That's them in photo #2, looking all smug and self-satisfied.
They look that way a lot. See ya next week.
