QUIZ RECAP

It's always a wonderful night at Strand Brewing! We had a solid team turnout and it was AWESOME to see some teams from years ago who used to play at my spots!! I missed your lovely faces!!

We had nearly everyone nail the Round 2 reality show judges, and Round 5's "Nursery Rhyme" theme couldn't have been easier for you smart cookies. However, the Secretary of State and Basketball Rounds tripped many of you up, making for a middle-round point-heavy game!

In the end, Stranded took the lead, TheOtherBarWasFull was a close second, and S.C.A.P. took third.

QUIZ RECAP

I'd like to start by stating that I learned at this trivia night how to CURE HICCUPS! Over the microphone, I begged teams for their hiccup cures. One woman approached me and said "this is going to be weird." That's how I knew hers would work.

She stood behind me and plugged my ears, then had me chug beer. I was happy to chug the beer of course (Atticus IPA is delicious), but having a stranger put her fingers in my ears was a new one! Lo and behold, the bizarre trick worked. Maybe she's a witch. Take this information and run with it.

As for trivia, we had a hilarious evening with horrible answers. My favorite was the team who answered "hentai" as the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery... nice try!

Maybe three people in the whole bar had seen the coming of age movie "Now and Then", so most teams were unable to double in the usually-doubleable Round 2. Most teams nailed the Zodiac Round 5, but LOTS missed their doubled Round 6's by misinterpreting "Panthera Leo" as panther instead of the correct "lion"!

In the end, Sam's Family took the cake, TheOtherBarWasFull stole second, and third went to Pandamonium.

QUIZ RECAP

It was a poppin' Wednesday with 20 teams playing! It's always great to see familiar faces too!

Tokyo 2020 edged out the win with Pandamonium in second, but third place called for the rare tiebreaker question! Pacific Rim Job guessed closer and stole the third place spot from Quizzin Our Pants. 

Also of note was the Find the Connection round, which I assumed was going to be super tough - silly me, you are all smarty pants! Most teams nailed the Super Mario Bros connection. Kudos!!

Special shoutout to Onionluvr1, who managed to reach the elusive -1 point by getting every question wrong through round 4. They made a comeback though and regained positive point status, ending with 6!
