About Strand Brewing Co

Founded with the support and love from friends and family in 2009, Strand was one of the first craft breweries in Los Angeles County.

Strand is not only proud to represent the beginning of the craft beer movement in LA, but the future of it as well. The brewery is located on the southern coast of Los Angeles County, nestled amongst the sleepy beach communities collectively known as The South Bay.

Strand Brewing Company is owned and operated by lifelong friends Rich Marcello and Joel Elliott.

Two of our perrenial contenders took advantage of a difficult clue round to break to the front of the pack, but the fight for 3rd went down to the wire. Last week's winners, Gently, gently, gently...nice, finished strong to take the bronze, but the teams that were tied for 1st early in the game couldn't be caught. Thot Pockets hung in and secured the silver, but a formidable matching round was the deciding factor in the 1st place finish for We're Not Here to Make Friends!

We at King Trivia bring you a challenging seven rounds of trivia every week, and the players at Strand Brewing Co. keep rising to the challenge! So we held nothing back tonight, and many a team got tripped up by a few of our craftier queries. But the battle for the top three was as fierce as ever! A multi-round tie for 2nd place finally broke in round 6, as A Tribe Called Quiz moved slightly ahead of Tipsy Mcstaggers. In the end, no one could catch Gently, gently, gently...nice, who held on strong for the victory!

 

I’m looking forward to watching these crack teams continue to vie for the top spots in league play! Congrats to all our teams, and the fantastic Strand Brewing Co. crew, for giving their all and making me feel at home!

Boy howdy, do I love a contest chock full of competitors at the top of their game! Which means I was pleased as punch to host an absolute barn burner at Strand Brewing Company! As one player, who could well have been speaking for all assembled, said to me: “We’re super competitive!” 

 

A large cluster of teams remained tied for the lead through the first three rounds. As the game progressed, the lead narrowed to three crews. Some particularly punishing animation trivia finally broke the tie, but our top three never took their eyes off the prize. Finally, with some shrewd use of Double or Nothing, A Tribe Called Quiz sprinted over the finish line with an astonishing 104 points!!! That’s gonna leave a huge mark on the league leaderboard!

 

Thanks to all our super smart and very friendly players, as well as the phenomenal staff at Strand Brewing, for making this Quizmaster feel welcome!
