QUIZ RECAP

Once again a great night of KingTrivia at Strand Brewing Co. in Torrance. Felice Catering was also in the house serving up their delicious Neopolitan wood fired pizza.

9 teams strong and all got off to a good start through the first 2 rounds. Started to get interesting when Gattaca and DaNile each doubled in Round 3 and nailed it. This pushed them into the lead heading into "Guess What". A new group called Pussy Posse, a very fun group of ladies, felt confident after the 10 point clue and jumped up with their answer. Unfortunately they missed it and dropped them back a bit but the hung tough for the remainder. Most of the teams got it by the 4 point clue but Gattaca stayed strong and got it on the 8 point.

For the beer round we made paper airplanes and had some great flights. Had 2 teams actually go backwards so I joked that they owed us the free beer! In the end DaNile would not be DeNied and tossed the winner. Had one team with some pretty impressive glide time but sadly most of it was to the side and not straight ahead.

Except for 2 teams it was a battle for the Top 3 spots heading into Round 7. Pussy Posse finished with a strong 44 and took 4th but had a great time. TriviaAmigos had an off night and finished with 35 but as always made me laugh with some clever answers. A new registered group call Foodies R Us finished with 41 and it was nice to have them with us. The highlight came when Holding On For Beer Life, trailing by 20 heading into Round 7, doubled correctly and got the 2 extra points for turning in their pen for an impressive 22 points, propelling then to a tie for 2nd with DaNile. But on the tie breaking question their guess was over the number and DaNile pulled out 2nd. And that left Gattica, one of or regulars, taking home 1st and the coveted picture with IronMan.

QUIZ RECAP

Another great turnout for KingTrivia at Strand Brewing Co. in Torrance. Once again Felice Catering was in the house serving up some delicious wood fired pizza to the teams.

A nice mix of regulars and newcomers all eager to have some fun. Round 1 started off all even then in Round 2, DaNile and Great Minds Drink Alike showed their true colors by doubling correctly and jumping out to an early lead. Those 2 battled for the top 2 spots the remainder of the way with the difference being, in the Guess Who round, DaNile couldn't come up with the name so taking a zero cost them 1st place!

Had a very fun beer round, playing who could eat the Fruit By The Foot the fastest with no hands! The dude on Quiz On My Face was like a vacuum and sucked that fruit up incredibly quick to take home the free brew. Not far behind was My Friends Put Out and even he was shocked at how quick the winner was.

In the end Great Minds prevailed and proved once again they are a tough team to beat.

QUIZ RECAP

Well another fun night of KingTrivia in the books. Didn't have as many of our regulars with us but had a lot of new very fun teams.

We also had Felice Catering with us up some delicious pizza tooth teams to keep them fueled.

Right through to Round 4 we had a very even contest and all teams in the hunt. A team called Squirtle Squad was making me laugh all night with their creative answers so I gave them at least 3 extra points for doing so!

Had a very fun beer round playing Name That Tune with all songs having girls/ladies names in them. I gotta say it's tough picking who raises their hand first and I hope the players understand that. Anyway, More Cowbell (appropriately) was very strong and took home the tasty free Strand Brew.

Things got interesting in Round 6 when Dunder Mifflin A-Team doubled successfully and put themselves squarely in line for first place. However, they took a big gamble in Round 7 and doubled again but missed one and only got 2 points for turning in their pen!

More Cowbell and Pen Island played consistent throughout and it was Pen Island that edged them out by 2 points to take 1st place.

Also had to use the tiebreaker question to break the tie for 3rd between DaNile and Dunder Mifflin A-Team with Dunder guessing closet and pulling out 3rd place.

Our remaining regulars, Gattica, TriviaAmigos and Great Minds Drink Alike were all in the hunt but fell a bit short in placing. I have no doubt they will come back strong next week.
