QUIZ RECAP

Had a nice group of regulars and new comers and got off to an interesting start in Rd. 1. 2 teams got em all right but did not double. 2 of our registered regulars also doubled, Gattaca nailed it but Foursome missed one and got the goose egg! Foursome bounced back in Rd.2 with 7 but were never able to get on a good roll. All the teams maintained a steady pace throughout but it was a challenging night for and it remained a close battle till the end.

For the beer round we played the card game "higher or lower" and almost got through the whole deck! Came down to Jeopardy Rejects and Gattaca but Gattaca prevailed and got the free 6 pack of Strand brew.

Whiskey Glasses successfully doubled in Rd.3 and wound up with their best finish ever and took home 2nd place. Jeopardy Rejects thought they were having a rough night and it was indeed a low scoring night but they took 3rd and were very happy with their $10 gift certificate. In the end Gattaca was tough as always and took 1st place along with winning the beer round as mentioned. A fun night for all

QUIZ RECAP

Well, while the Nationals were busy winning the World Series, we were busy having fun with KingTrivia at Strand Brewing Co.. Had some of our regulars with us along with a fun group of new comers. Feliz Catering was in the house as well, serving up their famous and delicious wood fired pizza.

Everyone started off strong and then in Rd. 2, 4 teams doubled, nailed it, and turned out to be our top 4 finishers. However, Jeopardy Rejects, No Clue and one of our regulars Molecular Nerds were right on their heels throughout. Nice to have Molecular Nerds with us they haven't been with us in a while.

It was quite an even battle between 6 of the 9 teams and it was anyone's game to win right up to the final round. Gattaca made a tactical error in the Guess Who round and got the -1 on a wrong guess. Going into the final, 8 points was the largest margin and sure enough 2 teams tied for 3rd and 2 tied for 1st. Had to go to the tie breaker and aided by the 2 point for being registered, Great Minds Drink Alike prevailed and goth their picture with IronMan and the $30 gift certificate! I Just Quizzed Myself took second and Gattaca came back from their -1 and took 3rd away from Jeopardy Rejects.

QUIZ RECAP

Fantastic evening of KingTrivia at Strand Brewing Co. in Torrance. Felice Catering was also in the house serving up their delicious wood fired pizza. I had the Buffalo Chicken it was delicious.

All 13 teams got off to an even start but then in Rd. 2, 3 teams doubled successfully and the race was on. Had a number of rounds where teams got em all right but did not double, shoulda, coulda, woulda!!

It became a 4 horse race by Rd. 6 but all the other teams were giving it their best. In the end one of my favorite groups Pussy Posse put the finishing touch on the win by doubling successfully in Rd. 7 giving them 1st place. 2 of our registered regulars, Gattaca and Foursome took 2nd and 3rd.

2 of out other regulars, Sam's Family and Great Minds Drink Alike were in the house but both had off nights. Great Minds is trying to get into the top 100 and will have to have some strong games in the coming weeks to get into the Tournament.
