QUIZ RECAP

It was Pandemonium at Strand Brewing Co. last night! No really it was because.......they won! The top 3 finishers all doubled and nailed it in Rd. 1 so it was just a matter of the order they would all finish. The other 4 teams hung in there and gave it their best for sure. Pussy Posse was with us and was behind by 12 points heading into Rd. 5 thanks to a couple of goose egg rounds. But they doubled correctly and with that 20 points, put themselves right in the thick of it. Gattaca was also right there and with IronMan at their table, (since they won last week), they were determined for the repeat. 2 of our other regulars, The Other Bar Was Full and Uniballers, did not have their best nights but always great to have them with us.

In the end it came down to Gattaca and Pandemonium tied with 50 so we had to go to the tiebreaker. And as I said at the beginning, it was Pandemonium and they got 1st place and the $30 gift cert. Gattaca was way over in their guess but 2nd place is not too shabby along with the $25 cert. Pussy Posse was 3rd but had they beed registered, would have gotten the 2 extra points and would have been a 3 way tie! I keep trying to get them to register, one day they will.

QUIZ RECAP

A great group of regulars and newcomers last night at Strand Brewing Co. Last weeks winner, Gattaca was in the house and ready to defend last weeks win. Right off the bat in Rd.1 we had 3 successful doubles and the race was on. One of our newcomers called Flying Birds, was in 5th the whole game until Rd.6 when they doubled and nailed it and then followed up with 18 in Rd.7, landing them in 3rd place. A great come from behind finish. 1 point separated the top 4 teams so Rd. 7 proved to be critical for all. Gattaca and Pandemonium were 1 point apart heading into Rd.7 and amazingly they both scored a 7. Uniballers wound up in 4th but would have been in contention for sure if not for an incorrect double down in Rd. 2 which put them in 4th but only by 1 point! They are always strong and it was nice to see them again.

In the end Gattaca was on a mission to repeat and so they did and took home their second 1st place win in a row along with the $30 Strand gift cert. Pandemonium was 2nd and played a great game and got the $25 gift cert. Flying Birds got 3rd after their awesome comeback and the $10 gift cert.

QUIZ RECAP

Team Gattaca doubled and nailed it right off the bat! Seems after I told them about the Tournament of Champions and the $5K of course, they are now on a mission!

Had a nice group of regulars and newbies and even a team with a birthday boy. Heading into Rd.5, Gattaca was up by 15 and seemed destined for 1st. However, in Rd. 5 another of our regulars, Foursome (who was actually Tensome last night) was having none of it and successfully doubled to get them within 6 points of the lead! The rest of the pack was hanging in there but the 2 team battle for 1st was on.

For the beer round we played " Fruit By The Foot In Mouth Disease" and it was a very close gobbling contest. In the end the young gun from Foursome, Dylan, was the victor and got the free Strand brew for his team.

In the end, Gattaca was just too tough and got the IronMan trophy and the $30 gift cert. It was funny listening to them debate whether or not to double and had they done so they still would've won by 1 point! Foursome took 2nd and the $25 gift cert and The Other Bar Was Full took 3rd. A fun night for sure
